Josh Pate predicts 2027 National Championship Game

Given the science that correlates # of first round draft picks to probability of playing for national championship, Pate took 4 mock drafts and built an average composite.

Drum roll…. By far, the two teams with the most expected #1 draft picks in 2027 are:

Texas (4.25)

-vs-

Oregon (3.75)

Next 3 in order were LSU (2.5), Bama (2.25) and Notre Dame (2.25)

I’d take a national championship between the Horns and Ducks all day long.   Let’s see if the final season results prove Pate correct.   Let’s go.

That would be an insanely fun matchup.   Two of the top QB, top WRs, high scoring offenses, could come down to which defense can shut down the aerial assault.  Fun to think about.

Ohio State vs. Notre Dame is my prediction

In my opinion, the only teams that can realistically win a national championship this season are

- Texas
- Ohio State
- Notre Dame
- Indiana
- Oregon
