Yacht Rock Favorites

Never seen this mentioned as Yacht Rock, but my favorite beach song ever is Nu Shooz, I Can't Wait. Listened to this while surfing in Charleston, SC and Coco Beach, FL in 88-89 as a teenager.

A lot of Hall and Oates nominations here, and I do not disagree. But, I have a question. Out of Touch is my favorite Hall and Oates song, but I do not consider that to be yacht rock. Unlike the rest of their catalogue. Am I off base here?

I recently went on a trip to San Diego and went on a boat. Out of Touch came on while we were gliding through the bay. Definitely qualified (for me) as quintessential yacht rock.

I've heard that song a million times and there were a bunch of lyrics in there I didn't know. For starters, in the chorus I think I've always thought it was "I'm out of touch" and not "I'm out of time". Even though he is clearly saying "time". Over and over. haha
