harveycmd Posted May 24 Posted May 24 Never seen this mentioned as Yacht Rock, but my favorite beach song ever is Nu Shooz, I Can't Wait. Listened to this while surfing in Charleston, SC and Coco Beach, FL in 88-89 as a teenager. Quote

Red Five Posted May 25 Posted May 25 A lot of Hall and Oates nominations here, and I do not disagree. But, I have a question. Out of Touch is my favorite Hall and Oates song, but I do not consider that to be yacht rock. Unlike the rest of their catalogue. Am I off base here? 1 Quote

I recently went on a trip to San Diego and went on a boat. Out of Touch came on while we were gliding through the bay. Definitely qualified (for me) as quintessential yacht rock. 1 Quote

For starters, in the chorus I think I've always thought it was "I'm out of touch" and not "I'm out of time". Even though he is clearly saying "time". Over and over. haha 1 1 Quote

Moderators Jeff Howe Posted May 28 Moderators Posted May 28 This technically isn't a Yacht Rock track, but it's Steely Dan, so it kinda counts. Regardless, Craig Way used this song to intro his old radio show with Bill Schoening. When I co-hosted with Craig on The Horn, I convinced him to bring it back to intro the second hour of our show. 1 Quote
