He's also gonna go play for OL coach Tim Drevno who has a great track record as well. Drevno was with Harbaugh at Stanford, SF 49ers, and Michigan. Drevno also spent time at USC, UCLA, and Ohio State. Both schools checked all the boxes but Northwestern had a bigger financial package, a faster path to the field, just as good if not a better education, valued him more, and were on him earlier. This was always going to be a tough recruitment to win for Texas I'm always curious about what the TAX burden is on the financial offer from Northwestern (State of Illinois, City of Chicago and Federal combined) compared to the smaller financial offer from the University of Texas (No state income tax and total Federal tax burden). Surely the player's agent works up the tax figures for presentation to the player. I guess Texas wasn't his "Dream School" after all. Hook 'Em! 2 Quote

I get what you're saying about Texas not being his dream school after all, but this is modern recruiting in a nutshell. If Siler was in the 2022 class or any class before it, there's no doubt in my mind he would've ended up at Texas 3 Quote
