Moderators Blake Munroe Posted 3 hours ago Moderators Posted 3 hours ago Texas infielder Casey Borba has announced his return to school. As I had reported previously, Borba was on the fence about testing the MLB Draft, but was leaning toward returning to Austin. Now Jim Schlossnagle gets a veteran infielder back in the fold. 18 Quote
Longhornfrenzy Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Hopefully he can cut down on the strike outs. No problem with his defense, but those K's are rally killers 2 Quote

Rare to see an 18 homer cat hitting 8th in an order. But that's where improvement has to come. 7 Quote

Doesn't have a problem with the Tuesday night games 1 Quote

Career .931 OPS while playing excellent defense. He had several other SEC teams telling him he had a spot if Texas didn’t want him back. 9 Quote

Moderators CJ Vogel Posted 3 hours ago Moderators Posted 3 hours ago That corner of grass by the left field pole at the Disch where the Cannon is held should just be called Borba's hill. He would have had 7 more home runs last year if those balls weren't like 10 feet foul. 3 Quote
Bevohorns Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago he was never going to be drafted lets be real lmaooo Quote

Also, a lot of his Ks come from having to take early pitches and getting behind a lot. And with his not so great eye for the ball and bat control he is a sucker for those low and outside sliders and curve balls. Those 81 Ks are nothing to sneeze at. Of course they aren't in the Trey Faltine range but they need to be cut down. He is a very good infielder and with a bit more plate work and discipline he can be a much better hitter. Quote

This has been said about him for 2 years straight if he was like pack or any of the other draft players we have had in the past he would be better by now. Quote

A Longhorn, who is living the dream that 98% plus of us will never live, has decided to return to help our beloved Horns reach the ultimate goal. Please cheer for him and keep the negativity out of this. 8 1 1 Quote
bourbasted Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Yep, need to clean up the strikeouts, but I'm very excited about getting veteran leadership back on the team. Don't underestimate how important it is to have guys on the roster who 'have been there'. This is a good thing! Welcome back, Casey! 4 Quote
Austalgia Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Players improve also, the entirety of his career should be considered without recency bias. Kody Clemens batted sub .250 with low single digit home runs his first 2 seasons, then broke out his junior year coming back. 3 Quote
horns96 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Glad he's back another year to get it straightened out at the plate.🤘 3 Quote
