Continuing our countdown with No. 69, and this one is a little different.

The clear headliner is Dan Neil, one of the best offensive linemen to ever come through Texas. Neil was a four-year starter, made 49 consecutive starts, earned consensus All-American honors in 1996 and helped Texas win both the 1995 SWC title and 1996 Big 12 title before starting on back-to-back Super Bowl teams with the Denver Broncos.

Olen Underwood is the other big name here. A two-way lineman from 1962-64, Underwood was part of Texas’ 1963 national championship team, earned All-SWC honors in 1964, later played seven pro seasons and made the 1968 Pro Bowl.

And since this is No. 69, you can’t ignore the 1969 Texas Longhorns. That team went 11-0, won the national championship, beat No. 2 Arkansas in the “Game of the Century,” beat Notre Dame in the Cotton Bowl, averaged more than 41 points per game and rushed for 363 yards per game.
