Why would Texas pay that to a kid who is going to have Tommy John and not play this season? 1 1 Quote

Moderators Jeff Howe Posted 43 minutes ago Moderators Posted 43 minutes ago Former Longhorn Dee Kennedy, who transferred to Kansas State, just went in the fourth round (No. 114 overall) to the Cardinals. Quote
Caden Kuykendall Posted 35 minutes ago Posted 35 minutes ago Beau Peterson is going to the Astros Quote
Moderators Jeff Howe Posted 33 minutes ago Moderators Posted 33 minutes ago For those wondering why they took the Texas Tech outfielder in the first round, this is why. You save on your first-round pick's bonus so you can move some of your bonus pool money down the line. It would be a pretty significant blow if Texas loses Peterson. 2 Quote

Moderators Jeff Howe Posted 28 minutes ago Moderators Posted 28 minutes ago It's a worthwhile gamble for the Astros. Unless there's a rule I'm unaware of regarding competitive balance picks, the Astros will get the pick back in 2027 if Peterson doesn't sign. So either they sign him, or they get the pick back (which they only got in the first place because Framber Valdez signed with the Tigers in free agency) next year. 1 Quote

Based on mock drafts and pre-draft rankings, it still feels like he went lower than expected. So this has got to be a small win for us, right? Quote
