Moderators Hank South Posted 4 hours ago Moderators Posted 4 hours ago The Longhorns will square off with Baylor on Nov. 15 at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio. Here's what Miller said about scheduling the Bears: “We have an immense amount of respect for Baylor as a basketball program and Scott Drew as a head coach,” Texas head coach Sean Miller said. “Coach Drew is one of the best to ever do it, and the success of Baylor’s program over the last 20 years speaks for itself. We wanted to play a high-quality opponent knowing that we’re going to challenge our team to the highest level, and Baylor does that. The fact that they are also from our state is icing on the cake.” “The second part of our trip to San Antonio is so much of how we think as a basketball program starts with the state of Texas in mind,” Miller continued. “This allows us to tap into our San Antonio fan base, and in particular our great relationship with the San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs come to Moody Center and play, and now we can reciprocate and go to where they call their home court. It’s great for our players, our team and to a large extent, it’s great for the continued relationship and development of that between The University of Texas and the San Antonio Spurs. Combining all those elements, playing in an NBA arena is always something that means a lot to our team and to our players because it’s where they one day want to be.” “Lastly, we don’t have a crystal ball and it’s not easy to make the NCAA Tournament, but if we are able to make the NCAA Tournament this year, there are a lot of different sites that you could go to,” Miller said. “If you are fortunate enough to advance, taking nothing for granted as you have to make it and advance, along that route one of those possibilities is San Antonio and Frost Bank Center. That is not our reason for playing this game, but there is a chance that could happen, and the fact that we could already have played there one time is again, icing on the cake.” 10 1 Quote
General Grant Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I’m against playing that cesspool in anything. If it must be beat them until they beg to stop and don’t stop. 2 Quote

There may be no worse university in America. Rape, murder, murdered pets. The absolute most disgusting place. Baylor and their fans are trash. 3 Quote
Horn79 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I was thinking the same thing about the Sweet 16/Elite 8 being in San Antonio this year, but I’m surprised Miller actually referenced that. It’s a good goal for the season to be there again in March. Quote
Moderators Gerry Hamilton Posted 1 hour ago Moderators Posted 1 hour ago A lot of trash talk by other fan bases about Texas' non-con schedule ... I think it's fine, and a very good prep for where Texas ultimately wants to be Nov. 15 vs Baylor (San Antonio) Ray's Children Invitational Nov. 26 vs. Georgetown (San Diego) Nov. 27 vs winner of UCLA/St. Mary's (San Diego) SEC-ACC Challenge Dec. 1 at Louisville Toyota Center Dec. 12. vs. Miami (Houston) Dec. 16 vs. Memphis The rest will be cupcake city at Moody Center SEC home opponents Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas A&M SEC away opponents Florida, Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas A&M and Vanderbilt When I look at schedules, it's all about team building and NCAA Tournament preparation. Non-con is 13 or 14 games... Texas will have 7-8 cupcake home games where Miller and staff can get a lot of guys minutes, while also learning about the players in game, rotations, etc... there are four for sure NCAA Tournament teams in non-con, and two other high-major level teams. Then 18 SEC games, and the vast majority will be hard fought games. Then SEC Tournament. Texas will be battle tested more than enough. Will have played every style of team, teams with different talent strengths, teams with every style and the Texas players will have been in plenty of pressure situations. Quote
