...I was in grad school during the Ricky years and would go to as many practices as I could to see the team. One of my best memories was seeing Ricky get a swing pass and run down the sidelines. He took my breath away. He was fast and muscle on muscle. Basically unstoppable.  I also got to talk to coaches on a few occasions. Such great memories. 

Later that semester, Ricky had a class next to mine and we chopped it up a few times a week. Being as I was from L.A., we had the California experience to talk about. He was always polite! Love that dude.

If I recall correctly that policy ended when Jordan Shipley injured his knee in practice and fans posted it before Mack could inform his parents first. Mack was pissed at fans.

Different time too many cameras and social media personalities. Entire practices could be posted on Twitter before the players finish showering

yet, Ryan Day is doing it this week.

Attending those practices up at Intramural Fields are some of my best memories of Texas Football.

I flew down to Austin from Chicago to watch Vince's first practice. I hadn't been in my new job very long and my boss gave me all kinds of crap about it. Worth it.
