Smith was dismissed for conduct detrimental to the team. That is all anyone needs to know.

Bunch of mostly grown men gossiping or quiet sniping at a kid that could have a real life problem. Why? He can’t play a stupid game for their team. Getting harder to stay at even this site.

Football conjecture is what makes following sports fun. Speculation on a kid’s personal life is pretty fowl. 

This! Forget all the speculation. I know it is natural to be curious, but these situations don't always have easy or obvious answers. And they are not always somebody's "fault." At the end of the day, "why" doesn't matter. Wish the best for the young man and hope he gets it figured out for his own sake. And let's talk about where the Horns go from here.
