Opinion poll on the best, common or unique, foods for your tailgate?

1. Smoked Sausage Links - there are so many varieties. Elgin, Lockhart, Luling, Llano all have great ones, but if you are ever passing through Giddings, you will be hard pressed to beat City Meat Market.

2. Jalepeño Poppers - filled with cream cheese, pimento cheese or pan sausage!

Great topic. For tailgating I am with you on the smoked sausage and I am a big fan of City Meat Market and Luling. Both are great. I also always have to have chips and queso at a tailgate. I like ribs, but I tend to favor them for a watch party at the house over an actual tailgate. 

 

Also - we can hope that @Gerry Hamilton doesn't see this thread because we all know what his answer will be...

Best jalapeno poppers I ever made were with Dungeness crab.  Never cream cheese!!  Just real cheese.  I miss Seattle but seafood prices are exorbitant everywhere now!!

We did a big shrimp boil several years ago. It was awesome.. We have also done Gumbo and Jambalaya.

I've always liked burgers, dogs, wings and beer pre game. Anything else like the shrimp pictured above and all the other great food is definitely great too but I'm a moron so I keep it simple stupid.

This is the best time of the year. Sadly for some dudes they hate it because their wives won't let them tailgate or go to games and if they get to go they have to get permission on what time to leave.. They also have to hope they don't have a wedding or some other stupid thing to go to on gamedays.
