  1. I mean we have a thread going right now about Tom Herman being at FSU now. Herb Hand is the OL coach there. @Joe Zura should be turning into an FSU fan. Obviously Herb Hand was so much better than Kyle Flood, how could JZ not be a huge fan?
  2. I would love for him to be special teams coordinator and be forced to say the names of the punter and kicker. That was one of the dumbest bits he had out of a whole lot of dumb bits.
  3. Actually not a terrible answer. After the last few months I didn't think it was possible for him to actually string together coherent statements, but that wasn't actually that bad. The coat though - geez...
  4. To be fair, Mormons aren't against caffeine per se. I thought the same thing before I moved out here. It's literally just coffee. I had never seen people who drink more soda (specifically diet soda) and energy drinks anywhere.
  5. I don't think there could be a more accurate comparison!
  6. Not someone that would ever be mentioned on something like this because he was primarily a backup, but just want to give him a shoutout. Brett Valdez wore #66 on the 2005 national championship team. I grew up with him and thought it was pretty cool that he worked his way onto that team and can forever call himself a champion.
  7. Completely agree. Early in his recruitment, I had read and heard some things that made him sound like a bit of a premadonna, kind of a Felix Ojo type. But, he's really been impressive with the way he has handled things over the last 6 months or so. Very impressive guy.
  8. I only had the opportunity to meet DKR once. It was about 2 years before he passed. Everyone that knew him has always talked about how humble he was. I thanked him for what he did for UT. He essentially refused the compliment and just talked consistently about how great the players were that he had the chance to coach. What a great man. He will always be remembered.
  9. Love this. Top committed recruits working hard for these last few.
  10. I know that LB recruiting this cycle has not been great but I feel like there's a lot of recency bias with this. We brought in the top rated LB in the nation last year along with a high 4* and another LB that is getting rave reviews. He also helped bring in one of the top LB from the portal. I think we need to hit the pause button a bit on the panic happening right now due solely to 1 cycle of HS recruiting.
  11. I mean he's kinda got a point...
  12. Exactly my thought on this. He hasn't done anything but be up front and honest throughout the process. He isn't feeding the flip talk other than taking visits which every recruit does. This is all being pushed by media.
  13. This guy is getting overlooked in all of the talk of the bigger names, but I really believe he could be a solid piece this year and have a real breakout season next year. He's the veteran in the room next year and Bishop and Royal as other parts, he could have a really big year next year.
  14. @Hank South It sounds like Texas viewed him as a CB, correct? I know others have him listed as a safety. What did the staff view him as and what do you feel his long term position will be? I'm not worried nearly as much about CB in this class, but safety is looking a bit thin right now.
  15. Wow. That's a really tough one between Rogers and Scott. Both were beasts.
  16. You're totally right about the physicality. I wonder it he comps at all to Emmett Mosely? @Gerry Hamilton thoughts on that comp?
  17. TTU is chasing stars. Just like everything else up there at this point, they want quick fixes and think highest star ranking by industry means better player. While that is true a lot of the time, you are always going to miss on a number of gems if you are only paying attention to stars. Ask Mack Brown about that from about 2009-2014...
  18. It's pretty interesting watching his film. Obviously he's not playing against DFW and Houston level talent out there, but what really stood out to me is he seems really polished for a high school junior. He naturally works to find open space in zone coverage. He sets up defenders in man coverage. I think his "super power" as RodB would say is his stop and start/change of direction. He has great feet. I really like this guy. If he was in DFW or Houston there's not way he wouldn't be ranked waaaay higher.
  19. I prefer both Sherrard and Jackson over McGee. He's a good player and wherever he ends up will be happy to get him. I wish him all the best.
  20. Now don't go trying to give this board hope...
  21. Great interview Bobby. Just had to get a jab in at A&M there at the end didn't you!
  22. This has been my thought process through this whole thing. Tech and the Sorsby camp are making a complete mockery of addiction and recovery. It's disgusting to see the enabling that is happening to someone that very likely does have an addiction and is not getting the actual help and cold hard honesty he needs in order to truly deal with it and start true recovery.
  23. I don't know. What's the point in holding back..Spill the beans...
  24. @Bobby Burton Has any of this information been sent to other media outlets in order to push this info forward even more?
