The crimson tide nickname came from a sports reporter who saw the team come onto the field and observed their crimson uniforms appeared to roll and undulate like the tide.  Hence, The Crimson Tide and Roll Tide.

The elephant is a mascot.  Kinda like the Hutto Hippos.  They don’t have them there, but it is aspirational.

If you found this helpful please like and subscribe to the OTF youtube channel and make a superchat asking Gerry if Kyle Flood should be fired and sent back to the Crimson Tide.
