Just want to let everyone know that we have a new local sponsor.

It's Berdoll Pecans. OTF members can get 10pct off all orders for pecans, candies fudge, beef jerky, etc., when they use the promo code OTF at checkout.

I've been going to Berdoll for 30+ years and can speak to the quality. It's a gift I get my parents and in-laws every year (and I get some for myself, too).

Website is http://www.berdoll.com

So if you want a little taste of Austin, use promo code OTF10 and get 10% off at Berdoll.

That's a good place.  My other favorite on 71 is Hruska's in Ellinger.  Great kolaches and sandwiches.

My parents stop there for the kolaches. But for pecans and gifts for holidays, there's only one place IMO. Berdoll's does a really nice job with that. 🙂

Yeah, Berdoll's has an incredible amount of merchandise and I love pecans.  We don't have any trips planned to Houston for awhile but their sponsorship made me take a quick look at their website for some gift ideas.  I did spot those cookie/candy tins shaped like Texas and those would make some good small Christmas gifts.

Hruska's has an incredible variety of sweet and savory kolaches and their deli/grill makes pretty good sandwiches and burgers and it is a good place for a pit stop on the way to Houston.  A few years back their burgers made a list as one of the top 50 burgers in the state.

Yep. Good stopping place.
