I think money offered to KJ Lacey should been used somewhere else. Assuming there is a soft salary cap in the program for NIL how do you spend 600k+ on a kid for whom there is a pretty good chance sits for 3 years and then finds himself behind Trey Owens and transfers.

I’m willing to bet that KJ Lacey isn’t sniffing 600k dude. Hes a very good QB prospect but he’s not landing that kinda deal. If you had said a top 2 QB like Dia Bell next class id believe that more.

There is no lack of NIL funds at Texas. The staff has set “limit” on the allocation of NIL funds.

We're early in the NIL era so we'll see how it plays out. But IMO we're better off losing NIL-only high school recruitments. Proven players in the portal is a different thing but these HS guys are just prospects and many will end up busting.

I'd wager top 100 QBs are getting near half a million or more a year
