Though what you said is true, I think they are connected to each other. If Sydir looks better, then that means he’s lost some weight and is committed to his diet and the strength and conditioning staff. That’s only the case if Sydir is in a good mental space.

Gerry’s report on the defensive line a couple days said the complete opposite so hopefully this fall camp he can work his way into playing time.

He’s DEFINITELY not going away, But you’re lying to yourself if you think he’s not going to be a liability athletically and physically. Seen two plays in the spring game that cemented that thought for me. Him begin flat footed on blue’s whip route touchdown and CJ Baxter completely running him over in the open field.

If Taffe is starting that is not good for our defense. He’s a liability athletically and won’t cut it in the sec where teams have more overall speed than big 12. If you want to use him in red zone, sure. But between the 20s he’s a huge liability because he’s slow.
