Moderators CJ Vogel Posted February 4 Moderators Share Posted February 4 Got a text late Saturday night in regards to a 2025 Bridgeland offensive tackle that recently visited Texas. Ryan Fodje is someone to keep a very close eye on for the time being in regards to a potential OU class addition. Texas hosted Fodje on the Junior Day where they offered for the first time on January 20. OU was Fodje’s first offer and Bedenbaugh has been pushing heavily to get the talented offensive tackle prospect into the class. Right now, I am expecting OU to find success with this recruitment. Moderators Gerry Hamilton Posted February 4 Moderators Share Posted February 4 Texas OL coach Kyle Flood was by Bridgeland High Thursday Texas staff is a big fan of Fodje. This guy will end up being a top 150 type prospect nationally, or should be. Would be a nice win for OU

Moderators CJ Vogel Posted February 4 Author Moderators Share Posted February 4 OU was Fodje’s first offer. Bill Bedenbaugh has a great eye for OL talent and found Fodje very early. Interestingly, Fodje mentioned after the junior day at Texas that OU was a school he could see himself at.

SpaceCityWrangler
OU does need some OL dudes. I’d rather focus on Fasusi and retaining guys already in the program. @Gerry Hamilton Do we really need a four man class? We have 14 guys that have 2 to 4 years left.
SpaceCityWrangler
@Gerry Hamilton Where are the ‘23 guys (Cojoe, Stroh, Kirkland, Chatman and Goosby) at development wise? I’ve heard wonderful things about Trevor.

After suffering through years of coaches mismanaging the #s at a developmental position I'm good with them stocking the cupboard every year. We're also most likely to have 4 or 5 scholarships open up along the OLine.

I see Texas signing a five man class in 2025. Just too much high-end talent in the cycle. Six isn't out of the question, but I'm thinking/hearing five now.
Baron
Is it just me or does Fodje's tape show a lot of holding?

I’ve heard wonderful things about Trevor. I'll start with Kirkland ... he's got a long recovery from the knee surgery. Goosby - a lot of positives out of Austin on him. 6-8, 310-315 now. Crazy he was 6-6.25'ish and 270 when he committed. Chatman - Texas loves the overall athleticism and upside. Question is where on the line will he end up. He's taken reps all across the line. Spring will be key there IMO Stroh receives praise too. He's going to maximize every ounce of what he has. Among the most physical OL's in the run game. Cojoe is still so young, and still maturing. If he remains patient and stays with the process, he has a chance from what I've been told. 5

CoachBobbyFinstock
Lots of really good tackle prospects in state this year. Texas will get theirs and they will continue to recruit this kid through the whistle if they see him as that kind of player.

Quinncent McManning, Jr.
What does this mean for Newman, and is Newman even top 3-4 on the OT priority list now?
Moderators Gerry Hamilton Posted February 4 Moderators Share Posted February 4 Just now, Quinncent McManning, Jr. said: What does this mean for Newman, and is Newman even top 3-4 on the OT priority list now? Texas likes Newman a lot too. He's a take. The Horns won't back off Fodje, we have all learned that. Texas is being very patient with OL recruiting. Not pushing for commits now. They will evaluate through the spring.
