Moderators CJ Vogel Posted February 9 Moderators Share Posted February 9 What a wild turn of events coming from Ryan Day's program. As it looks currently, Buckeyes OC Bill O'Brien will head to Boston College to take over the head coaching job. To fill the void, UCLA Head Coach Chip Kelly is expected to make the jump down to offensive coordinator according to Pete Thamel of ESPN. What an unprecedented move here. New era of CFB. 4thandFive
Wow. Does that seem like a good mix of offense with Day? RD has to take his shot now with Michigan down a HC and like 15 starters.

uthorn1374
He got a load of talent in the offseason and now another OC. The minor issue Day that will likely cause his failure is the QB. Just a minor detail. Edited February 9 by uthorn1374
CaseMcCoyTruther
Would love to go after UCLA DT Jay Toia now. He’s got great size (6-3, 325) and was productive. Initially committed to USC but transferred to UCLA after just one semester. Who was the UCLA DL coach he transferred to play under? Johnny Nansen.

After this coming season he will be at roughly 70 wins and 7 maybe 8 losses in 7 years, 2 or 3 conference championships, three or four college football playoff appearances and a national title appearance. How could they fire someone that’s done that? Edited February 9 by TexasLonghorns

Though Toia chose USC over UCLA initially, he went back to UCLA to play for then-Bruins DL coach Johnny Nansen quickly.

Moderators CJ Vogel Posted February 9 Author Moderators Share Posted February 9 Ohio State has the best roster in the country in my eyes. The players that opted to return to school that could have gone pro give them the boost over Texas and UGA.

This won't be a repeat Joe Burrow story

Jerry K
1 minute ago, McRib said: Are we worried about Nansen as a possible candidate for UCLA? I don’t think Nansen would do that to Sark nor do I think it’s a job worth taking. Just seems like there are issues there for Kelly to do that.

Not sure if the timing will work though. Not saying it’s not possible but it’s really late for a student to enroll at Texas this semester. But when has that stopped any of us from talking? Without a lot of money I wouldn’t want any of those fringe B10 schools. Can you imagine the flights and recruiting? I just don’t see West Coast fitting into that conference without major headaches.

Their OL is trash, they don't have consistently at the QB position, and lost their most valuable weapon on offense.
