Bobby Burton Posted February 9, 2024 Posted February 9, 2024 I just can't believe this. How bad a situation must UCLA be for coaches right now? 3 Quote

SuperDave0805 Posted February 9, 2024 Posted February 9, 2024 Seems like Kelly was just going through the motions at UCLA and that he doesn't have the fire in his belly to be a head coach anymore 1 Quote

Not saying it’s not possible but it’s really late for a student to enroll at Texas this semester. The April 15-30 portal window is when things will happen. Patience everyone patience 2 Quote

Think about the new challenges they are facing trying to win a conference, when they couldn't overcome the Pac 12 competition. Now they are still hitched with the few great Pac 12 programs, but they have the new Big 10 teams to face. Not to mention the logistics nightmare of actually traveling to play road games. 1 Quote
_everyoneshere Posted February 9, 2024 Posted February 9, 2024 Someone actually chose to hire Bill O'Brien to be a head coach again?? 4 Quote
Rivalrygameblock Posted February 9, 2024 Posted February 9, 2024 The agent-fed lists of replacements being published are pretty meh. Hard to believe UCLA, in that locale, isn’t leveraging corporate NIL better. 1 Quote
Hookem777 Posted February 9, 2024 Posted February 9, 2024 Really thought he was going to the NFL, guess he couldn't get interviews. 1 Quote

Makes me wonder about Chip Kelly. Coordinator jobs are usually taken by fired head coaches. 1 Quote
Hank Kingsley Posted February 10, 2024 Posted February 10, 2024 What a horrible look for UCLA. Their program is a disaster. 2 Quote

Class of 04 Posted February 10, 2024 Posted February 10, 2024 Over the last 6 years or so Ohio State is the Oklahoma of the BIG, they always have a stellar offense and win the conference more times than most. When it comes time to win a natty they poop the bed. 1 Quote

That helped him land the Texans HC position. All he did there is trade the best receiver in the league for a carton of smokes and a 12 pack of PBR. He set that franchise back and has been trash everywhere since. 1 Quote

Coordinator jobs are usually taken by fired head coaches. It’s odd. What’s he going to do at Ohio State to really help himself? Ryan Day has had great offenses at Ohio State. It’s not like Chip is going to a defensive HC and will credit for getting them over the top, like Sark, Kiffen, or Monken (Georgia). 1 Quote

Longhornmd Posted February 10, 2024 Posted February 10, 2024 I think this is a bad hire for Day. I am not sure Kelly has the energy to recruit anymore. Kelly also does not like the NIL era right now. Kelly also has not matched the success that he had at Oregon. This could be disastrous for Day. Quote
Hank Kingsley Posted February 10, 2024 Posted February 10, 2024 Chip won't have major responsibilities with NIL/recruiting at Ohio State like he did at UCLA. Quote
UTJack Posted February 12, 2024 Posted February 12, 2024 Ohio State has our former aggie athletic director...he probably offered Chip Kelly $10M/year for 10 years guaranteed to get him:) Hook'em Quote
