Moderators CJ Vogel Posted December 14 Moderators Share Posted December 14 Klare wrapped up his visit to Austin late Friday and has since made his way over to College Station for a visit with A&M. There was perhaps some hope that Klare would lock this portal recruitment down after the trip, but that obviously is not the case and a trip to Oregon has become more of a possibility since his departure from Austin. Texas did a great job getting the early visit for Klare, whose stock has only risen since entering the portal. To finish the job, Texas will need to play the game of portal recruiting and NIL, as Klare and his camp know he is the top-rated tight end in the portal and will have his pick of where he plays football in 2025. The Longhorns will have to wait a bit on a decision from Klare, but they are in the thick of it now. 23 2 1
Christian Ibarra
I know it’s the NIL era but Oregon hasn’t had at TE drafted in the last 5 years and A&M back in 2019. When Helm is selected that will be back to back years…..this should be an easy choice.

taxsaver
I hope we land him, but let's face it: who thought Helm was going to be as good as he ended up being? I think we have some great prospects in the wings.

dfwHorn
Yeah, also worth noting, we claim Oregon is spending like crazy, we reportedly were the top spending collective in the country. 1

Is Phil Knight considered part of the collective? I assume that’s independent

In a 17 game CFB season, all of those guys would have a chance to get touches. It’s a long season now.

The problem with going after Haynes right now is, if you bring him in, does Blue say screw you and jump in the portal and leave you with Wisner and Gibson for the playoffs? At that point, his excuse would be spots are filling up and he's not in the future plans, so why stay and keep playing and risk injury? This transfer portal while teams are in the playoffs is a minefield. Sark deserves whatever they're paying him, and then some.
