Here is your stats. This team is comparable to 2009 with very elite defense except QB play this year is far superior. Run game, offensive line, and receivers as a whole is better than 2009. Why do you and others keep trying to compare this team to the worst decade in Texas football history? That isn’t the comparison, this team should be compared to teams like 08-09 Texas 04-05 Texas, etc. it has arguably one of the best, if not the best, defense in program history and it’s literally being squandered by the offense So maybe you need to check the stats Edited January 2 by Hashtag

Exactly!!! Hook em’. It’s been a long drought with mediocre coaching since 2010. I’ll take this all day long!! I bet Oregon wishes they were in our shoes right now. So does Bama and Michigan and about 110 other universities. Enjoy the moment instead of writing ‘hate pieces’. 3

I call back-to-back final four appearances getting a whole heck of a lot out of your talent. If we were so bad at second-half adjustments, why have we been a good 4th quarter/OT team the last month or so? 4

The we aren’t winning a title, plain and simple. That’s just the reality. A lot of us have seen what championship winning teams look like and unfortunately because of our offense this ain’t it. Quinn had 49 yds passing and a 5 yd rushing TD on a drive that began with 41 seconds left in the 3rd, so good try. You clearly have selective amnesia for facts that don’t suit your narrative. The top 2 things that plagued our offense this game: OL and playcalling. #1 thing that won the game for us on offense: Quinn Ewers

Obviously Colt didn’t finish the Bama game so I will focus on the other three. Of OU, OkSt and Nebraska that year, only OU and Nebraska could be said to have good defenses. Nebraska’s was very good. Here are Colt’s stats in those games: OU: 21/39, 127 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT, 33 yds rushing Neb: 20/36, 184 yds, 0 TD, 3 INT, -20 yds rushing Colt McCoy didn’t carry us in games against good teams with good defenses in 2009. He was arguably a liability in those games (much worse stats than Quinn has put up all year). Our defense carried us that year in games against good defensive teams. 2 1

Nostalgia has given you rose colored lenses of the 2009 season. By the same grace you give Quinn, you should have been calling for Garrett Gilbert to start after Colt’s performances vs OU and Nebraska in 2009. 1
CoachBobbyFinstock
We absolutely got beat on the headsets. We couldn’t run the ball and got out gained by a considerable amount. The offense was absolutely putrid for about 4 series in a row and this left our defense on the field way too long. The heroics of Quinn on the 4th and 13 play saved the season. Golden and Makuba are right there with him too. Texas was clutch when they had to be but the offensive line and gameplan has to be better next Friday. We didn’t look ready to play on that side of the ball. Edited January 2 by CoachBobbyFinstock 1
TTown
I can be as critical of Quinn at times as anyone. But with no running game yesterday , he did a hell of a job . The interception was bad yesterday. Some throws into coverage yes. But be fair and look at all the rest. We don't win without Quinn's play period. And with everything on the line he came through period. OSU is a different animal right now, but football is a crazy game. Bet we compete our tails off and let's see. Michigan beat them, so of course any given day. Like being a dog for a change. Let's show up in Dallas and get a home field advantage. Gonna need it! 🤘🤘

There is no reason to expect QE be perfect every down, every series. Who is? Greatness came out at the end of the game and you couldn’t recognize it. Sad. It really is sad that you missed it and can’t enjoy it. QE is as good as QB as there is left in the playoffs. The problem is our running game is probably the worse.
