taxsaver Posted January 4 Posted January 4 Arch had better look out! No we needed to have 4 QBs and he makes for #4 1 Quote

tsip92 Posted January 4 Posted January 4 I know Sark was looking for another QB to help with reps, scout team, etc but I have to admit I don’t know what he sees here (admittedly never having seen the kid play, just looking at his stats). Quote

TooBrokeToPayAttention21 Posted January 4 Posted January 4 Do we get a video on him, would love for Bobby to give a tongue I cheek BOOM for the young man. 😁🤘 Quote

Brian Richardson Posted January 4 Posted January 4 I don't think this guy is the answer, but the more I think about our roster going into next year, the more I do think we need a veteran transfer who can be a primary back up to arch. Our QB room is going to be very talented, but also very young and inexperienced. If arch goes down, we're left with a redshirt freshman with very few college reps. Getting a grad transfer QB with lots of starts would be a great addition to the roster.IMO. Quote

And we nearly guarantee no experience for backup that might actually be a starter later, and that is if the QBs (Trey Moore primarily) we recruited and put so many resources into doesn’t transfer. These kids aren’t just going to wait around at QB. They want to play. We are getting a little arrogant with the portal IMO if we try that, it’s a balance. This is an emergency QB, and someone for reps. Edited January 4 by Austalgia Quote
Red Five Posted January 4 Posted January 4 You have to assume there will be teams trying to poach Owens off our roster. We should probably be happy having him as the backup next year. Quote
Bobby Burton Posted January 4 Posted January 4 No offense to Rogers but it’s clear that this is strictly scout team stuff unless the world ends in the QB room during the season. 3 Quote

Very true, but from his comments he seems really excited to be at Texas. He will be a motivated scout team quarterback trying to get the players better. Quote
