Played in the NFL, coached throughout the SEC, originally from Hattiesburg, Mississippi. One of the top RB coaches in the country. I didn’t think he was in play and he may or may not be. The poster who heard the name is connected though. 1 Quote

The principle qualities needed in a RB coach at Texas is to be a volume recruiter, to instill the Sark culture into the players in the RB room and to be a great developer of talent, in that order. The TE coach needs to same qualities; you can’t replace Jeff Banks with some TE coach no one has ever heard of. It must be a splash hire for an A grade. Of those speculated for the job, only Jabbar Juluke, Tony Alford, Carlos Locklyn and maybe Kevin Smith have all of the qualities we need. Khenon Hall might have been a great hire 3 years ago (and might turn out to be a fantastic RB coach in the long run), but Texas is right on the cusp of winning a Natty and a Javian Osborne or Amari Latimer or Ezavier Crowell or Derrek Cooper might make the difference in getting there. We need a splash hire to make sure that happens. Just my two cents. I don’t think Sark has to hire a home run assistant at any position. Or at least not what general fans would consider a home run. Instead, I think he needs to hire a home run culture fit and a home run on-field coach. 5 2 Quote

They need a coach that can land Osborne and an SEC power back. They are on a silver platter for the 2026 class. A non-recruiting NFL RB coach is not going to get that done. Quote

Not because of who they are or their qualifications. Both of the coaches you mentioned came from the NFL and weren’t on the road previously recruiting. 1 Quote

He also lost two DL we already had committed and had to flip Sharma and Charles. It looked bleak in June. That’s what happens when you start a lap down in recruiting. 1 1 1 Quote

But I doubt that a coach from Baylor has developed strong relationships with these recruits, especially from out of state. Osborne yes said they were very close I read that immediately when his name was mentioned Quote
