So.... I've stated here a few times that when we lost out on D.K. Moore... initially, I like many, was devastated. Then I quickly reevaluated the situation and the job done by this staff so far, and I started asking myself the right questions. Granny used to say time reveals all. She was so right.

So, he chose Oregon...right? Dan Lanning...right? Of course we know Coach Samples and Phil Knight mainly got it done, along with Evan Stewart's co-sign... but in effect, he chose a coach that doesn't do it for clicks...right? Well, why the hell is this freshman reciever that hasn't played a down appearing on The Pivot, with a kid who chose the very same coach he threw stones at? Why isn't there some national outrage about Dan Lanning letting his freshman that haven't done jack 💩 parade around like he's a Buffalo... doing it for the "clicks"? Also, why would I wanna play for such a hypocrite? There are some other elements at play here that the family isn't in tune to.

This kid is all about himself. He never would've fit any culture Wednesday. I'm not saying he's a bad kid... im saying he's a self-centered kid...very self contained and too many people have told this kid how good he was for way too long. Long on talent..short on humility. I'm glad Sark does things the way he does things here. I like guys investing in the work, the process. Arch and the Manning family did it right. Until he earned the right to be in front of a camera, he worked. He didn't ride on his name or what he'd done in high school. CB4 wasn't on every pod he could get on being the #1 rb in his class. Colin Simmons...good lord! I could go on and on! It's the content of the character..it matters.. and it's why Texas is finally BACK!! 🤘🏿

You may be right about Moore, but Sark wanted him badly and that trumps everything you said about him personally.

What a stupid post. I don't like how it went down, but Sark wanted him and it didn't happen. We always have to tear a kid down we lose, just wish him well. Beat him on the field. And yeah if he ever came here portal wise one day  and scored TD's , you would be cheering him on. Carry on if it makes you feel better .LMAO

I’m not going to get this wound up over a teenager.  Dakorien Moore is a guy Sark and his staff wanted, but the interest was not reciprocated on Moore’s end.  He will be a great WR at Oregon.  Believe it or not, not every big time high school recruit wants to come to Texas and they have their reasons for that (i.e., too close to home, better NIL package, better schematic fit somewhere else, etc.).  Good luck to him, unless he’s playing against Texas.

As far as I can see, Moore is a hard worker who deserves the success he is about to have.

But he went on The Pivot podcast

So was Evan Stewart supposedly in being a hard worker but when he portaled out of the aggy dumpster fire that was the Dumbo Fisher era Sark didn't bother gauging his interest in coming to Texas.  And that remains the constant thus far with Sark in that he hasn't taken back high level recruits that initially spurned Texas.

So if Moore decided to portal back to Austin you think Sark would say NO?

Yes... and I'll tell you why. This entire team was welcoming...as evident by the number of family members there. He had every reason to choose to be here... he didn't. What he's displaying doesn't line up with anything you've seen from any Longhorn on our roster. Things happen for a reason... like Gerry always says, and I don't think those reasons change, on either side, in less than a year. It's more about who he is and what we are, at this point.

We all did... but time reveals all. Everybody here loved Johntay Cook too... and I'm one of the few that still does. I still follow him and encourage him to realize his potential. How many of you still give a damn? It doesn't "trump" anything..honestly. It just says we avoided a wreck instead of cleaning one up. We dated... but after courting for a few months.. we got dumped and found out it was a blessing. Happens...🤘🏿

So... you would be OK with Anthony Hill Jr coming in as a freshman and going on a National media tour before he saw one college down, but saying he came here to play football and not for clicks or just what UT could do for him... without providing any returns to the university yet?

It wasn't an effort to "wind you up"... that's a you issue. I merely made an observed and kept receipts of Dan Lanning and his disparaging comments about Coach Prime and his coaching strategies. It seems like he's ok with players getting clicks now. Talent over culture... that was the tenor of the post, but you missed it. Reading is fundamental, but common sense isn't very common, either. 🤘🏿

I expect him to be great... it's set up for him to be such. But.. what if he goes down in spring ball with a major injury and doesn't see the field in 2025? How will that Pivot appearance sit in the eyes of the same media he was trying to impress? Isaiah Neyor was about to be the NEXT guy here... until he got hurt in the spring. We never saw that guy everyone raved about in the spring. This is the point, amongst others, I'm making. Hard workers don't go do National media when they haven't produced one yard yet. Arch and his family were lauded for doing so. 🤷🏿‍♂️🤘🏿

Yet, if he had committed to Texas all would be fine and you’d be happy as hell and ignore the alleged immaturity.

If he'd committed to Texas and was on the 40, he damn sure wouldn't be on The Pivot before he made any plays. He wouldn't have committed to a coach that excoriated another coach he was jealous of, pointing out that Coach Prime and his players only do it for the "clicks"...and therefore, there would be no need for this post. I would probably be talking about how he was going to explode in this offense with Arch. The only place we may have seen him would've been on 3rd and Longhorn. But.. guess what, he did... and that's why you and I are here. Nice chat...🤘🏿

Texas is back because of character.  All of the haters that posted on this thread can’t deny that.  They just are probably too young to understand what’s going on.  You are right Boxing.  It is an objective truth that the collective culture of Texas has made it successful again.  Football is a team sport.  Maybe you can win in different ways, but I’m glad we are choosing to win in this way.  Being confident is one thing, being self absorbed is another.  I hope every kid does well, but I hope they also learn to give of themselves to the team.  It’s not about them, especially when they haven’t done sh$t.  If he works hard that’s great, keep your head down and work hard! That’s what my coaches would have said.  Want an example of how this can go?  They said Zach Evans was a hard worker too.  Glad we got Bijan.  They said Micah Hudson was a hard worker, glad we got Wingo.  Don’t worry about the hate Boxing, good post.

You think this is a stupid post? What a timely posting of the Simms interview of Sark.  Watch that interview. Sark himself says character is what is different at Texas.  And no, unless there is an immense change in his attitude, I do not think Texas would pursue  Dakorian Moore in the portal if he entered.  We recruit most commited players to the whistle, yet we backed off of him with his antics and the way he went about his commitment to Oregon. No one is tearing the kid down, happy with what we got instead, but his actions can be evaluated in a post. It points to the difference at Texas.  And of course we wish him well, we shall see how it turns out up there in the Lanning experiment.
