Moderators CJ Vogel Posted April 4 Moderators Posted April 4 Sean Miller and the Horns have added another piece out of the portal. Former Purdue 6–7 forward Cam Heide has committed to the Longhorns. Heide averaged 4.7 PPG in 2024-25. Though he is a career 41.2% three-point shooter, making 49-119 of his attempts in his two seasons as a Boilermaker. Heide is the second portal addition so far for Sean Miller and his staff. 9 Quote

qaertyisthatdude Posted April 4 Posted April 4 Highflyer and sharpshooter. Seems like a Sean Miller type of player. Quote
Sundancekid Posted April 4 Posted April 4 Good role players with talent make for good team chemistry. A little underwhelming at first but I am going to trust in Miller until proven otherwise. Sounds like he was valued and had options. 1 Quote
Moderators Gerry Hamilton Posted April 4 Moderators Posted April 4 Texas current 2025-26 roster... Tramon Mark, CG, 6-6, Gr. (10.6 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists) Jordan Pope, CG, 6-0, senior (11.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, 1.7 assists) Chendall Weaver, G, 6-3, senior (6.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.4 assists) Malik Presley, G/W, 6-5, RS-sophomore Camden Heide, F, 6-7, junior (4.7 points, 3.6 rebounds, 39.2% from three) Dailyn Swain, F, 6-8, junior (11.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.6 steals) Nic Codie, PF, 6-8.5, sophomore John Clark, PF, 6-8.5, freshman Jamie Vinson, PF, 6-10.5, sophomore ….. Three true contributor spots left (currently). A 13th ship will likely be a development player that likely will be a year away from being a key guy 6 Quote
bierce Posted April 4 Posted April 4 Nice acquisition. Still need a big guy and a plus penetrating guard. Quote

Yes and no. 44 PPG is not a fair picture when you consider the bench players numbers aren't included, Pope, Mark, and Weaver (when playing) were not primary scoring options for us last year, and Swain was third in fga on Xavier. Give each a maturation year and a bigger role in the offense, and you might see some big jumps in offensive production. Heide was on a Purdue team that ran an offense that was Kaufman-Renn/Smith/Loyer/or get the f out of the way. We could maybe use a big time scorer, but I'm more a lot more concerned about getting someone to a) help us on the boards and protect the rim, and b) get in the paint to disrupt the defense to create openings for the rest of the offense. 2 Quote

bierce Posted April 5 Posted April 5 I've been trying to think of anyone we have had in the last 15 years who was both a plus 3 point shooter and a guy who could sky and be a great target for a lob. Nothing comes to me. Quote

MarkInAustin Posted April 5 Posted April 5 We also had a power forward who shot well over 40% from out. Remember? Quote

Orngblud05 Posted April 5 Posted April 5 So far this roster looks like last years team without its best player who single handedly kept them in a good number of games. Roster isn’t complete yet but yikes. I hope this Miller guy can coach 1 Quote

In regards to the players, go back and look at the Elite Eight team a few years ago. No real superstars, just a very bought in team. I suspect that is the way Miller will put the team together. 1 Quote
Sundancekid Posted April 5 Posted April 5 If we add two more guards and two more bigs this roster will be deep and athletic. 1 Quote
