Blake could you see Borba switching to first full time if he comes back next season ?

Honestly, I haven’t even thought about first base at all. But that’s a good questions in terms of who will be the man there.

He has experience playing 1st, so there’s that.

I’ll do some digging and see.

I think so much is going to come down to the portal. Texas isn’t messing around.

When are we going to start to see portal visits?

This was likely the "fan favorite" portal candidate that Blake hinted at weeks ago.

Wish him well but he was not a top of the line pitcher that can compete for national championships. I guy that bleeds burnt orange though and I’ll be rooting for him… unless he goes to ou.

Speaking with sources, Texas is in the mix for multiple big-time college baseball free agents. The Longhorns are in the mix for Virginia transfers Eric Becker (infielder) and Henry Ford(infielder/outfielder). Becker officially entered the portal on Tuesday with a do-not-contact tag, and batted .368 with 74 hits in 201 at-bats in 2025. He hit nine home runs and drove in 52 RBIs, as well.

Seton Hall transfer outfielder Aiden Robbins started 46 games this spring, finishing with a .438 batting average to go with 33 RBIs and a .550 on-base percentage. He has emerged as a top portal target for Texas, sources have said.

Maryland starting shortstop Chris Hacopian totaled 29 home runs and 103 RBIs in his two seasons at Maryland. He was an All-Big Ten second-team honoree both years. The sophomore is lining up a visit to Austin, per a source. The rising junior has been projected as high as a potential top-10 pick in the 2026 MLB draft.

Sorry to see him go.  Not a great pitcher but he threw strikes.  Good luck to him.

9:35 PM UPDATE: And here is the fourth one I told yall to expect (not counting the fan favorite hint I dropped awhile back).

This is the one who was on the postseason roster.

Do you think this is one that the staff would have liked to keep? Was a highly rated recruit. That’s about all I know about him. Lol

Not too worried about it. Gotta remember… the 2026 class is all Schloss guys. 2025 is a mixture of Pierce/Schloss.

Anything before… Expect consistent talent upgrades across the board. Texas isn’t playing around.

Give my Hacopian, Becker and Robbins and let's go get some pitching! Oh and a CF

Do you think there’s a good chance Galvan stays for another year?

I’ve been asked to hold the name for now. I will tell you it’s not a single person that I’ve seen listed anywhere.

As in we haven’t seen this person connected to Texas or haven’t even seen him listed in the portal?
