He's smart enough to know what he is and what he isn't at this point in his career.

He’s far better than Heat Ray Allen or to be even put in the same conversation/role as Heat Ray Allen.

Point is he’s not the default No. 1 option, which is OK because the Rockets don’t need him to be that guy.

Props to the Suns for getting a better haul for KD than what the Mavs got for Luka.

Ain’t that the truth. Geez. Nico and the owners suck real bad.

Uhmm, who do you think will be the #1 offensive option on the rockets over Kevin Durant? I'm sorry but Ray Allen on the heat is not a great comparison. Maybe more like Shaq when he went to Miami.

I think it’s Sengun, followed by Thompson. I just don’t think asking 37-year-old Kevin Durant to play more than 35 minutes per game is good for him or the Rockets.

I could be wrong, but managing Durant’s minutes so that he’s got gas in the tank for high-leverage possessions in the playoffs is far more important than letting him continue to be what he’s been (36.5 MPG and 26.6 PPG last season in 62 games) and hoping he holds up.

Of course they will keep his minutes down in the meaningless regular season, but you gotta be kidding me suggesting Sengun would be the #1 option on offense. He averaged 19 ppg on 54% TS compared to KD averaging 26 ppg at 64% TS.

KD is far and away the best offensive player in that roster and got him specifically because they needed a number one option down the stretch of close games. It's not at all like Ray Allen standing on the 3 point line watching prime LeBron James and Dwayne Wade. That's just silly.

I like Jalen but he is not a max player IMO nor do I think he will develop into one. He will be a very good player but I am fine offloading that contract for KD for sure.

The Rockets have an elite coach, some pieces that are elite defensively and a lot of talented pieces. They need a scorer and there are few better than KD. I love the move.

Like I said, I could be wrong. I'll admit the Ray Allen comment was just a bad take. But I'm tempering expectations on what Houston can get out of KD at his age and with his injury history.

If I were a Rockets fan, I'd be satisfied that they got the deal done without giving up Sengun or Thompson.

Yeah whether he can stay healthy is a big question for sure. Hope it goes well!

Sengun arrow is going up. Amen is about to be a stud. Cam and Reed Sheppard have minutes available. I love Jalen, but I’m excited as a Rockets fan, and I’m glad they didn’t part ways or give up more younger players, and if you think that’s silly…come at me bro

Or Sheppard or Jabari Smith. Keeping Tari and Whitmore is just bonus.

It's an impressive list of young assets they've gathered. I wish the Mavericks would take note and follow suit.

Y’all literally have high school sports, the Cowboys, Mavs went to the Finals last year, Rangers won the World Series two years ago. Y’all also got TCU, SMU, and Oklahoma. What we got in Houston? The Space Center and Galveston.

I'm an Astros fan and I don't live in DFW, so I've got no dog in the Dallas-versus-Houston fight.

The Rockets have a ton of talent but they were one of the worst teams in the NBA in half court offense. Clearly they got KD with the idea that he'll help solve that one weakness, and he isn't gonna do that by standing on the 3 point line like Ray Allen on the Heat! That's all I'm saying.
