Moderators Gerry Hamilton Posted 8 hours ago Moderators Posted 8 hours ago 4-star++ Jalen Lott update Texas is trying to make up ground in the race for 4-star++ WR Jalen Lott (Frisco, Texas/Panther Creek). Steve Sarkisian and multiple staff members have been in constant contact with the family this week. USC and Oregon had considerably higher NIL offers out to the Texas legacy as of late last weekend. Texas has not stepped up to where it’s a competitive race. Lott is scheduled to make his announcement July 8. If OnTexasFootball were handicapping the race on July 1: 1. Oregon 2. Texas 🔼 3. USC 🔽 29 2 Quote

Moderators CJ Vogel Posted 8 hours ago Moderators Posted 8 hours ago Let's see how much ground Texas can cover here. If Oregon is comparable to the USC offer on the table, this is going to be tough for Texas to win outright. 10 Quote
f1revo Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago So no meaningful change then? Disappointing but it is what it is. 1 Quote
MBHORNSFAN Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago (edited) Can we get Lott to jump in a pool together with Lanning? Edited 8 hours ago by MBHORNSFAN 1 Quote
aggiecutter Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago I would move on. Resources would be better used elsewhere. 1 Quote
Quinncent McManning, Jr. Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago I don’t know. We know his dad is a horn through and through. This is a case that if we are in the ballpark maybe not outright top nil we might have a chance. Would love him in the class. 2 Quote
Deej Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Is not supposed to be now? Texas has now** stepped up? @Gerry Hamilton Quote

The question is what is the Net offer from Oregon/USC because of taxes compared to Texas' offer. 3 Quote
Bevo92 Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Would love to have Lott in this class. Appreciate the update. Mom and Dad both went to UT and it’s time for Jalen to continue the legacy!! Hook em!! 🧡🐂🤘🏼 Quote
tommym Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago With the NLI now, why would you go to a state where there is no state income tax? I know in the pros if you play somewhere they tax you. Is that the same in college? If not then your friendly states like Florida and Texas would be ideal. 1 Quote
McCoyColt Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Still so confused how so many schools have offers on the table that we won’t match with almost every recruit lol. Unless sark is just waiting for everyone to spend majority of their NIL budget and then we swoop in later in the year with comparable offers 1 Quote

BevoFlyer Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Oregon state income tax would be $23,011.00 on $250K income for a single filer. $47,761.00 on $500K...which may garner some attention. I remember at the very beginning of NIL when CDC said players pulled him aside in April and asked how they were gonna pay their taxes. 1 Quote
Sundancekid Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Texas is not really in deep need of wide receivers… especially ones that are being overvalued in the market. I think Sark and Co. are being prudent how they invest… what positions are the hardest to obtain and which are more immediate necessities. Curious to see how this all unfolds. 5 Quote
