Moderators Blake Munroe Posted 12 hours ago Moderators Posted 12 hours ago We are down to just 35 days before the season opener in Columbus. Which Texas player that donned No. 35 over the years is your favorite? An option today includes… Jim Bertelsen Bertelsen was a standout tailback during the wishbone era from 1969 to 1971. He played a key role in Texas’ success, including the 1969 and 1970 national championships, rushing for 2,510 yards and 33 touchdowns over his college career. Known for his speed and versatility, he was a two-time All-Southwest Conference selection and later played in the NFL with the Los Angeles Rams. 3 Quote

Burnt Orange Horn Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago (edited) Bertelsen had a family member send his game film to Royal to be recruited. At a homecoming dinner in Wisconsin, even LBJ attended. He lived in San Marcos until his recent passing. Think of him as an early version of Jonathan Brooks. Very smooth. I sure wish OTF would have Ted Koy and Bill Bradley on before it is too late. Maybe Duke Carlisle? They were the pioneers of great Texas football teams. 🤘🏻🤘🏼🤘🏽🤘🤘🏾🤘🏿 Edited 12 hours ago by Burnt Orange Horn 3 Quote

Dread-headed Texan Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Anyone notice how sloppy 05 championship game was? You had Reggie trying to toss the ball back that resulted in a turnover, you had Vince tossing the ball ball and Texas scoring that shouldn't have counted, Ross fumbling the first punt, and the missed fgs and extra point. If Texas plays just a little cleaner it's a blowout for the good guys. Quote
