I’m sure I’m in the very marginal minority here, and could be totally wrong when all is said and done, but I’m honestly not too worried about this game. I’m planning on walking out of the stadium with my friends getting nailed with beer cans, derogatory language, and minor assault but my head held very high the whole time because of a double digit victory.

That’s funny, we have two very confident fan bases. I see it as 31-17 Ohio State.

One fan base is going to be in for a hell of a letdown. Hopefully it isn’t us once again in Columbus 😞 Damn you Vince Young!!

My Ohio State friends think it’s Sayin and they’re keeping it “close” so that the back up doesn't transfer. They invested decently in Sayin after Bama. If the back up transferred then they’d have a true FR as a back up. Seems to me that they’re doing more of what we did with Murphy and Quinn.

Sooo.  Not sayin, just sayin?

Any insight you want to share about this year’s Buckeye team?  I like hearing various perspectives.  Thanks

Just my opinion, but I’m very high on this years Ohio State team. I think if Sayin (or Keinholtz) turns out to be as advertised, I think Ohio State is as good as they were last season.

It doesn’t mean they’ll repeat, odds are they won’t. But this team is loaded with talent, and experienced talent as well. So is Texas btw, which is what makes this the greatest week one game in the history of the sport imo

I know we like our LB room, but it still pisses me off that OSU has both Peyton Pierce and Riley Pettijohn.

By all indications, both of those guys are living up to their potential and both will be starters at some point in their career. Ohio State doesn’t have Texas linebackers, but that room is absolutely stacked. It might be a couple seasons before Pettijon is a starting linebacker.

OSU put up 21 points of offense in the Cotton Bowl. I have a very hard time seeing y’all scoring more than that against this D (which by all accounts might be even better than last year’s #3 scoring D) in Sayin’s first college start. Not saying it won’t be a close game, but if OSU puts up 31 yall might be destined to win it all again.

That’s fair, but Texas also can’t expect to hold Jeremiah Smith to 1 catch for 3 yards either.

Henderson/Judkins >>> Peoples/Donaldson.  I like our chances to hold their offense to under 21 points.

Henderson & Judkins were elite. Peoples is going to be special as well. I wouldn’t sleep on Peoples.

What’s your call on Michigan at Oklahoma week 2?

I just can’t imagine Michigan with a true freshman QB going into OU and beating them. I know OU is only -2.5, so Vegas thinks it’ll be close, but I can’t see them winning.

That’s what you think lol. Sit back and enjoy. See your a** in Columbus. We win at 11am too not just at night like ‘05.

Unfortunately, you will not see me. My future Buckeye will be born that weekend so I am selling my season tickets 😞

Congrats, and thanks for the insight. Hope you can ignore the weirdly aggressive comments from a few lol

I get being high on the upside of youngsters but you can't replace the experience Howard, Judkins, Henderson and all those defensive guys had with just talent especially when you consider they had talent too. Our pass rush vs an inexperienced Sayin and Patricia/Hartline trying to replace Knowles/Kelly in game one is why I think Texas leaves with the win.

I don’t fault you at all for being confident. I just think Ohio State’s offensive line is going to negate some of that. Especially up the middle.

It’s Sayin, (just sayin) the competition is a facade.  The rationale is not about transfer it’s we have to prepare for both QBs now.  That’s fine . Sayin can make any throw on the field, and he has the weapons to get to the marks.  We will just have to be ready for a battle.  These are the best receivers we will face for sure all year.   Can’t bank on Sayin not being ready.  And freshman QBs always play Heisman type performances against us, see Caleb Williams.  We just have to play to our defenses potential, and not take this lightly.  And our freshman Qb happens to be good as well.  He needs a good opening.  Also, we are happy for you to join the discussion.

Not just Caleb Williams, Texas has problems with new QBs, Stockton at Georgia brought them back when they couldn't move the ball at all.

I am looking forward to that confrontation in particular.  Texas has to win there.

I will say that I am worried that our secondary may devolve back to its '23 version without Mukuba & Jahdae and that'd be a huge problem with the that Ohio St WR room. That's the one thing still giving me pause but I believe the pass rush will negate it to the point that Sayin will start but we'll see Keinholz some as things get a little overwhelming for the young QB. Think Georgia at Texas this past year.
