This is pretty wild. I can get where OSU is coming from but the *flinch* is not a great look for the Buckeyes.

Here's the text if paywall an issue:

The newly minted Fox-Barstool college football partnership already has some drama even before the first game.

Ohio State is barring Barstool Sports from campus and its founder Dave Portnoy from entering Ohio Stadium for the school’s huge opening-week matchup against Texas on Saturday, sources told Front Office Sports.

Portnoy will still appear on Fox’s Big Noon Kickoff, but not for the end of the show inside the stadium, a source said.

The Barstool College Football Show, which on a number of occasions will lead into Big Noon, will no longer run as Barstool previously planned, a source said. In announcing the partnership, Fox said that the Barstool show will be on the road with Big Noon for “select” dates.

One source said Fox anticipated having issues with Portnoy and Ohio State and that the network’s original plan did not include him entering the stadium.

Former Ohio State linebacker Bobby Carpenter said on his Columbus radio show Monday that there were a lot of folks from his alma mater who are “not all that happy about [Portnoy] being hired” at Fox, and co-host Austin Ward added that Portnoy is “not welcome inside the Horseshoe.”

A spokesperson for Fox Sports declined to comment, and a rep for Ohio State football did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Portnoy is a Michigan grad and has been a persistent troll of Ohio State and head coach Ryan Day, ratcheting up his remarks over the last several years amid the Wolverines’ winning streak over the Buckeyes.

Portnoy also joined Oracle founder Larry Ellison, his partner and Michigan grad Keren Zhu, and Tom Brady in wooing five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood to Ann Arbor.

This predicament with Ohio State figures to be a recurring one as the school usually hosts multiple Big Noon games a year.

Laugh all you want but how soft do you have to be to ban someone from the stadium bc they hate your team?? I can’t recall another team doing this without merit and him getting in your fee-fees doesn’t merit it.

We’ll find out how soft they are in 4 days

How soft do you have to be to have first and goal at the 1 and the other team gets 7 out of it?

all fun games for me over here. appreciate your contributions here.. best of luck! i'll go 23-14

Wouldn’t surprise me one bit. I watched every one of Arch Manning’s throws from last year. He’s better than I thought. However, it seemed like anytime he faced pressure he just threw the ball into double or triple coverage or rushed a short pass that was off the mark. That’ll come with experience so hopefully he hasn’t learned to deal with pocket pressure in the off season or it could be a long day for Ohio State.

I think you are letting Arch's play vs UTSA and ULM heavily bias your analysis. UTSA was his first extended action and ULM was his first start. From his full body of work, those two games were definitely the ones where he made questionable decisions in the face of pressure. Sarkisian also called an aggressive gameplan and allowed a long leash in those games knowing that an INT or two in either of the games wasn't close to the end of the world. In the remainder of his games, he had far fewer questionable decisions. Even against UGA, which you've criticized, he was composed and competent despite coming in down 20-0. He made two legitimate mistakes (that he reasonably could have been asked to avoid) that I counted in that game: missing an open crosser (35:42), taking a sack rather than throwing away (36:45). That UGA game was easily the most pressure our QBs faced on the year.  Jalen Walker and Mykel Williams were Top 15 selections in the draft. tOSU's defense was good last year and I'm sure will be good this year, but y'all didn't have guys like that last year and won't have guys like that this year. Yes, y'all's pass rush was very effective against Quinn "The Statue" Ewers.

Btw, throwing a ball at the feet of your receiver to avoid a sack is not a bad play. Throwing a ball too high is a bad play, I would agree. I'm willing to place a large bet Sayin will make the same kind of mistakes you've pointed out Arch making last season (every QB does), probably this Saturday. What we've seen and like about Arch is that he constantly looks to learn from his mistakes, get better and subsequently avoid them. Above all, that is what you should hope for from Sayin as well.

Soft is when your head coach stands on the field with his hands in his pockets while his arch rival plants their flag on your logo after winning 4 straight

28-14. That’s not soft?

Several were high, several were into triple coverage. Again, Arch was better than I thought he would be. I see the potential now. Just hopefully he hasn’t learned from those mistakes yet, because if he reaches his potential against Ohio State, Ohio State probably isn’t winning.

Also, you’re 100% right abour Sayin. He is not even close to a finished product. He is going to make mistakes against Texas, just hopefully they aren’t too costly.

Just don’t leave this message board after Saturday. Promise?
