Look, Taafe is an elite safety. He's an All-American for a reason and is starting for the #1 ranked team in the country. It's like deciding between Jeremiah Smith and Ryan Wingo. You can't go wrong either way. Both elite.

That's all I'm saying is Downs is great at what OSU asks him to do as Taafe is great at we ask him to do.

The Big 10 is much more like the NFL in the offenses they see

I tend to agree.  Sark has gone 4-wide with a TE as part of that.  We will see how Endries fits in with that.  Based on what I’ve seen earlier, at least last year, yall go to Man defense more than we do.  I previously mentioned our variability.  I think that’s our approach to coverage - mix it up and allow flexibility.

Yeah, Burke was just limited in what he could do. He was never a legit NFL prospect. Moving forward it will be all of Tim Walton's recruits, so it'll mirror the WR room in 5* after 5*

So is Burke national championship caliber or not?  He won one so he must be.  But it’s almost like are saying he’s not good enough or not OSU good.

Where as the offensive success was based around the OL, it wasn't Denzel Burke leading the defensive success. It was more scheme and DL + Caleb Downs and the rest of the secondary.

Ok.  You won in spite of one guy.

- I don't care if he was injured, Ohio State was playing with their second string OL
- What play call? The play call that allowed Ohio State to throw a 75 yard screen pass with no defense in the way.

Point taken.  But again your best guy was not a second unit guy.  Neither was your other tackle. I’m not certain why we played a guy at less 100%, but it bit us in the end.  You previously referenced out playing our Oline.  That likely played a part.

The screen pass was good execution on your part, poor recognition on ours more so than our play call.  Then our attempt at tackle was poor and took out a secondary tackler.

For sure, can't argue with anything you just stated

Burke was Ok by OSU standards.  (We have been spoiled with some really good DB's) Burke was prone to getting burnt deep and blowing coverages, he never lived up to the hype.  He was by far the worst DB on the field for us last year.  With that said he did make the  Arizona Cardinals final 53 man roster.

He might be a better eraser, but Sark and your DC would pick Downs over him to play the same position.

We're just doing what fans do and that's go back and forth. I played safety in high school and was pretty good before tearing up my knee completely so I watch recievers, dbs, and quarterbacks as if I'm studying film. I played like Taafe with more speed and athleticism, but was never going to be a D1 athlete at 5'10" 150 even if preinjury I was high 4.4 40. I always had problems gaining and retaining weight. Still do til this day lol I'm stuck in my high-school body at 45.

You’ve been fairly well spoiled at many positions.  And with that you have many guys that look as good because of their surroundings when only 10% of your opponents can match you physically.
