tommym Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Seems Sark was holding plays, like cards to close to the vest. First game of the season, Texas will be fine. Really, like this team, just clean up stuff. Very vanila play calling, that is expected first game. 1 3 Quote

I was baffled at how he didn't help Arch early on in this game like he would with Quinn. Maybe we will get to keep Arch for three years starting. Are you talking about the very first easy pass that Sark set up for him that he skipped or the screen pass he skipped? Or are you talking about the strong run game that started out to take pressure off Arch? 2 Quote

I truly believe Sark is a great play caller but he needs to give up the play calling. Ryan day had to come to that point and now it’s time for Sark to give it up and be the head coach. He trusted AJ and Kyle to come up with the game plan now let one of them call the plays. 1 Quote

It doesn’t matter who calls the play if the QB can’t execute then a team is not going to win. We were 1 dimensional until the end of the 4th when OSU went to prevent and burn clock. They were daring Arch to throw. Quote
HookemTexas Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Arch played poorly, but still had them in the red zone multiple times, if Texas converts those they win. The play calling in the red zone is the biggest worry. 2 Quote
horns96 Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago What was Sark supposed to do short of going out and making throws for Arch? Arch was just terrible for 3 quarters. 26 yds passing in first half? Who would have predicted that? 1 Quote

Arch was definitely underwhelming, but play calling, especially in the red zone, was predictable and vanilla. I found myself missing Greg Davis. At least the bubble screen would have been a change. But, I do believe that if you are going to run Arch it has to be to the outside. On another note, Sark knows his OL can get the push. Quote

At some point it becomes a physical fight and our guys still aren’t up to the challenge. Quote

That’s fair, but I definitely categorize shooting ourselves in the foot with penalties and wild throws as a face plant in any event it’s week 1… adjust and gear up for the swamp 🤘 Quote

Georgia) or guys with superstar passers (Alabama, LSU, Clemson) 1 Quote

The OL was getting push but OSU stuffed us on 4th down because they sold out to stop the run in the middle. They knew it was coming. We all did. 1 Quote

I almost think thought he could be vanilla in the first half then break out the wrinkles in the second half when he had seen Patricia’s defense Quote
