Moderators Gerry Hamilton Posted 11 hours ago Moderators Posted 11 hours ago Texas vs San Jose State Game Week Thread The Longhorns play host to San Jose State September 6 in the 2025 home-opener. TV: ABC 11 a.m. central San Jose State SJSU lost their season opener 16-14 to Central Michigan at home. CMU rushed for 247 yards at 4.9 per attempt. The CMU top two RB’s put up 201 yards of the 247 on 31 attempts. CMU totaled 362 yards on 63 plays. QB Walker Eget attempted 43 passes in the loss, and had two rough interceptions in the opener. Both were ill-advised throws. If he repeats decisions close to that September 6, Texas will likely get a pick six opportunity. Eget also had a lost fumble in the game. SJSU posted 383 yards on 67 offensive plays. 7 Quote
McCoyColt Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Texas -36.5 seems like free money if I must say so myself Quote
Moderators Gerry Hamilton Posted 10 hours ago Author Moderators Posted 10 hours ago Texas will run the football about as well as they desire Saturday unless SJSU just decides to play heavy box and give up 1v1’s and see if Arch hits guys for explosives 4 Quote

HookemChappy Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago I think Sark should use this game to work on very specific issues the team has. Work on Arch throwing to the right side. Forget about the long ball. Work on the touch with the short to intermediate. Focus on timing and crisp route running. Don’t worry about the score 3 Quote

Don’t worry about the score He said as much when he said this game is about us. I wouldn't be surprised if Texas scores 70 these next three games, because where Sark normally likes to have a 50:50 run pass ratio he more than likely will have a 60:40 ratio to get Arch looks and reps. These games are glorified scrimmages. 2 Quote

MBHORNSFAN Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago The next 3 weeks should all be easy wins. It will be opportunity to improve but IMO we still won't know who we are. After the ou game if we are 5-1 the 2nd half of the season will be fun. We come out 3-3... Woof. 2 Quote

LonghornFan4Ever Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago The season rides on the games in the Swamp and in the Cotton Bowl. Have to go 1-1 at worst there. 0-2 there and you’re Citrus Bowl bound. 2-0 and SEC championship, CFP and beyond are still on the table. 1-1 you have no margin for error left. 2 Quote
Dread-headed Texan Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Lol these next three games that if you're playing CFB, you sim. Quote

Uneekhorn Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago @Gerry Hamilton Do you think Shark will go back to basics for the next couple games? Quote
NothinButDaHorns34 Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago (edited) Watched the highlights of central michigan vs san jose state. SJS longest rush didn’t happen until early in the 3rd quarter for about 11 yards. The defensive backfield and pass rush should get a lot of work this game. They are or seemed VERY pass happy against central michigan. Edited 4 hours ago by NothinButDaHorns34 1 Quote
Assistant Regional Manager Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago San Jose State allowed 12 sacks the entire season last year. I don't think they are going to allow Eget to sit back there and go through progressions. Their offense isn't built that way. He threw 7 passes last week 20+ yards down the field and most of them are just go balls. They are actually going to test our secondary a bit which is a good thing. Quote

Why all the hype with Florida this early?? I find it hard to believe they’ll have a defense remotely close to what we faced against Ohio State and I believe our defense just gets better as the season goes along. Florida doesn’t have the roster that OSU has or ours for that matter. Guess I’ll find out when I’m there for the game 🤷♂️. 2 Quote
Dread-headed Texan Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago The worse thing about losing in football on any level is having to wait a week to get back on the grass. I'd imagine practice this week will be chippy and extremely physical. The guys are ticked off and gotta take it out on each other until they don't. Quote

I think he was pretty basic at Ohio State, and that will continue next three games. When SEC starts, totally different 2 Quote
