Tennessee is ranked #17 and is the 4th highest ranked team in the conference currently. Texas will need to continue their sharp play to win this one. 
 

Can they extend their streak of winning sets?

Got me curious, what’s the record?

This team currently has 7 3-0 sweeps in a row. 

The record is 9 in a row, completed twice in the 2007 and 2009 seasons. In 2004 the team had 8 consecutive sweeps. 

In 2009, the team won 30 consecutive sets during that 9 match sweep streak. They could have run the streak to 15 matches but they dropped a set to #6 Nebraska before reeling off 9 consecutive sweeps. They beat two ranked teams during that streak. The team lost to penn state in the championship finals. 
 

The 2007 streak of 9 sweeps included 30 consecutive sets won and wins over ranked OU (twice) and #1 Nebraska. That team lost to #5 USC in the Elite 8. 
 

The 2004 run of 8 consecutive sweeps came at the beginning of the season and included no ranked opponents. They won 24 consecutive sets.
