connorkp23 Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Ranked as a top 20 freshman in the NCAA by ESPN as a a starter on Washington’s O-Line. Glad we let him flip! 1 Quote
coltonmartinez Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago How would our guys grade out against Purdue, Rutgers, UCLA, Wisconsin, Maryland and Illinois? He’s a UW Legacy. Shouldn’t have surprised anyone that he flipped. 9 Quote
AusMOJO Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago I'm not sure we let him flip, as much as he wanted to stay closer to home and he has family that played there, no? 2 Quote

bourbasted Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Always a great use of time to lament recruits who chose a different school and had success. 1 1 Quote
Oldest Horn Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago We “let” him flip? So kind of us to “allow” a kid to pick his school. Do we do that often? Quote

Moderators Gerry Hamilton Posted 47 minutes ago Moderators Posted 47 minutes ago Consensus 3-star ... kind of crushes one narrative out there on Texas OL recruiting. OTF had him as a 4-star, but recruiting industry had him as a 3. 2 Quote
Itsamystery Posted 41 minutes ago Posted 41 minutes ago Some kids make the best choice for their family and their own interest. That doesn’t always include Texas. Evidently our offensive line coach can identify talent…. Quote

I know it's a sore spot with me, but Texas seems to have more problems with Legacy recruits than one would expect. I haven't done the research, so I really don't know. But it's an impression I have developed over the years. The failure to secure Brockermeyer (not the one of the brothers we DID get...at Miami now?) still bugs me and I always have the irrational thought that he wouldn't have gotten injured at Texas and would have had a career like Banks had recently. Fingers crossed for young Mr Lott, but he's the kind of kid I would think should be a slam dunk for the Longhorns. I understand from Gerry that the times have changed. Hook 'Em! Quote

Quinncent McManning, Jr. Posted 18 minutes ago Posted 18 minutes ago Mills was the worst loss of the last class, especially given we were desperate during the season to find a LG.. he would have had a legit chance. The other odd "loss" (I know we didn't push, and probably why we didn't push) was Andrew Marsh.. kids's got 641 yards and 3 TDs in a michigan offense that isn't exactly lighting it up from a passing standpoint. Probably good for him to go away from home, but still.. Quote

The 5 star never started a game at two schools. And the 3 star is finally a contributor in his 5th year at his 3rd school. 1 Quote

I know A'shawn Robinson wasn't a legacy, but I remember his Mother really wanting him to play for Texas. He's another recruit I hated to lose and if I'm not mistaken, he's still earning game checks in the NFL. Fingers crossed for Lott. Quote
