I would like to see a good, in depth analysis of home versus away win-loss percentage. As there is some premature, preliminary debate on should Texas schedule the Ohio States or also rans, this would add another discussion point regarding such decisions. That extra loss may cost you an invite to the party, but it certainly is likely to cost you a home game. Actually it’s not the losing of a home game, but it’s giving you an away game rather than a neutral site game. There are references made, but it’s minimally discussed. There are too many teams with them all having unbalanced schedules, playing too few games to be awarding significant advantages based those factors. Quote
Glass Joe Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago The only reason the committee announces the decision to delay making an actual decision is because they know a change in format is needed and forthcoming. The extra time allows for the additional info from this season’s playoff results, and use that as a basis to support the changes they’ll announce on January 23rd. Maybe Disney wants to see the viewership revenue numbers from this playoff season before deciding to go beyond 12-14 teams? ( Disney is locked into under the current contract at fixed economic terms. If the playoffs expand beyond 14 teams, Disney has to increase the payout). Do they go to a 14-team format, or a 16-team format, or all the way to a 24-team format (as favored by the Big Ten)? We’ll know on January 23rd. Quote

DocHorn Posted 40 minutes ago Posted 40 minutes ago I think 16 is ideal but I think when you get to the final 8 teams neutral sites are better i know that is 3 games at neutral sites if you make it to the finals but it fits really well with current bowl structure 7 bowls involved in playoffs its a lot of travel for fans but it’s like a Christmas gift to the fans with each win getting rid of conference championship games is the way to go. Saves the kids bodies some as flawed as Horn has been this yr if they beat Aggy on Friday and it was a 16 team playoff I would look forward to playing#4,5,or 6 The tournament gives a team a chance to be flawed fix the issues and have a chance to get hot at the end of the yr Giants have 2 Lombardi trophies from playing as a wild card in past 18 yrs there will be massive interest in 16 game playoff much like March Maddness start the playoffs around Dec 10 or so and finish by around Jan 10 Quote
