  1. I'm hoping for double digit wins. I want Texas to start racking those up and for that to become the expectation.
  2. He got this guy drafted from Western Kentucky. https://www.espn.com/nfl/player/_/id/4365457/brodric-martin
  3. I don't think Texas is particularly interested in class of 2024 DL recruits right now. They're busy looking at 2025 recruits and the portal.
  4. I don't know if that does it. I'm really concerned about the point of attack up the middle.
  5. Question is now moot. Sorry I didn't get to it earlier.
  6. Fair. Watch the interviews. Form your own opinions. But time to give him a chance and see what he can do. He’s got a shot at the big time.
  7. Trust Sark. If he thinks he can recruit and develop, then give him the chance.
  8. I'm with you on this.
  9. I think back to the stupid stuff I did at that age. This would have been right up my alley. And it makes me smile. 🙂
  10. He definitely hit the interview trifecta: Crying, cussing and thanking the Lord all in 10 seconds. I like the guy; I like that authentic emotion from people. I just don't know if he'll work long term for them.
  11. I don't really know where it points. I know Sark likes coaches who have *some* NFL experience. I just think it means he's looking for the right fit and that recruiting is going to be a large role in that decision. BTW - I don't think he's wrong here. The DL position is relatively bare. We're talking about Alex January possibly needing to be ready to play as a true freshman right now. That's not ideal.
  12. I think just about every Texas fan would (or should) nod their head in agreement with that statement. Good stuff!
  13. Glad you're here! I have a job for you though. As your first official act of joining the board, can you please make sure a good dozen Michigan players enter the transfer portal? 😉
  14. I like how TexasMDcoach described Colt. Part of his allure was the complete lack of expectations he came in with.
  15. Ray, you're not on the bottom of any totem pole! You're the crazy, cool design at the very top! 🙂
  16. That's the type of coach that'll keep your attention. There's a reason he's been so successful.
  17. I think that's likely but I don't think Texas sees that as a date of concern. Probably more concerned about the next big junior day event from a timing perspective.
  18. It's incredibly hard to play two sports in college. The demands on your time, especially from sports like football and baseball, but even more is the type of practice. The two practices don't really carry over to one another. The combo we see most frequently is football and track. Lots of carry over there, especially for skill players and even for some guys in the throwing events.
  19. J Muhammad is a fringe NFL guy. Good player and would help any defense but I don't think he's appreciably better than Brooks, personally. He's not a shutdown corner. He's a piece of the puzzle, that's the difference I see. Now Will Johnson at Michigan? That's a shutdown corner.
  20. I spoke to a person close to the situation last night. And here's what I was told... Texas is looking for a certain type of DL coach. Steve Sarkisian really wants to up the level of recruiting they have seen on the interior DL. While Bo Davis was a terrific coach, he didn't exactly leave the cupboard full at his position. Perhaps it's the only position on the team right now that doesn't have an abundance of talent in the underclass ranks. Texas sees this as an opportunity to improve the staff overall. Given that, Sark is trying to find someone who can fill the void of not only being an elite developer of talent, but also an elite recruiter of said talent. That's not necessarily an easy task; Davis is a good coach after all. But Sark wants to make sure he nails this hire, both on the field and in recruiting.

  22. I wouldn't bet that on that, but he's definitely not the type of QB that DeBoer won with at Washington or even Fresno.
  23. I love guys who are ranked 3 star yet have offers from major programs across the country. But there are different types of 3 stars IMO. There are the undervalued ones at the outset, like Ethan Burke who de-committed from Michigan to sign with Texas. That's two of the four programs in the CFP. They just missed on him. There are guys who have literally maximized themselves into better prospects than they were, like Sorrell, Helm and Majors. Conner is interesting because he has some ability but also was a bit of a guess for some schools.
