  1. Jabbar Muhammad has committed to Oregon. The second team All-PAC 12 cornerback while at Washington this season chose the Ducks over Texas and Alabama earlier today. After entering the transfer portal, Muhammad visited Texas 10 days ago. A day later, he visited Alabama. Of note, the Horns did not promise Muhammad a starting role. The Horns return two starters in Terrance Brooks and Manny Muhammad. View full news
  2. Well, Payam Sadat and another young assistant already went with Jeff Choate as did a recruiting guy. Paul Chryst is still there on offense.
  3. I think that’s a younger man’s job these days.
  4. We’ll let you know when we know.
  5. Not hard to tell which one is the future Texas football player in that group. 😉
  6. This is one of those “competitive” offers. You make out of state offers typically to stay in the race over time, not necessarily to get them to commit immediately.
  7. I agree 100-percent with this. I really think Sark and Billy Glasscock have done a whale of a job in this regard.
  8. Some Hudl highlights. Also plays DE. http://www.hudl.com/v/2MadXx
  9. An elite 2025 OL in the state of Georgia.

  11. A move like this was expected. DeCamillis deserves a full-time gig. But I think it will have an impact on the Horns ST unit.
  12. Now that is an interesting take.
  13. Texas is pretty much done with the portal for now until the end of the semester. Muhammad has a standing offer but I expect that to go Oregon's way. They were also close to getting T Davis, the corner from Arizona to visit, but he backed out. As for Burroughs, he had issues at Bama and even more at Miami. Texas would have to do some real digging there.
  14. This is a great hire IMO. While Jeff Banks has been a very good ST coach during his time on the 40 Acres, I felt like Texas took another step forward this year in that regard and I think DeCamillis certainly helped.
  15. Texas assistant special teams coach Joe DeCamillis is moving on. The long-time NFL assistant who served a support role for the Longhorns last year, DeCamillis accepted a full-time staff role at South Carolina, according to published reports. DeCamillis helped special teams coordinator Jeff Banks architect one of the best special teams units the Longhorns have produced in decades.

  17. A fun, quick watch on a Saturday morning...
  18. Rod, CJ and I spent some time discussing who we think the starters will be on offense in 2024 and why. Some of the answers revolve around exactly what Steve Sarkisian wants to be in 2024.

  20. Agree. How well Texas and Baker debunk that narrative will ultimately tell the story.
  21. Agree with a lot of the thinking in this thread. I’m in line with the thinking that people can overthink hires like this. The key for me is that I think Sark wanted someone he felt could improve recruiting while also being able to develop players. Baker has mentored two NFL guys at a smaller school. That shows he has that tool in his tool belt. Then all he has to do is be as good or better as a recruiter and it’s a net win for Texas.
  22. Since 2000… I like Forest’s list. Add 2008 Texas-OU. Notre Dame home game was an amazing game but given the team cratered after that, the bloom fell off the rose there.
  23. Just a reminder, Bolden is not on campus until summer. I’ll ask around about the portal guys.
  24. I think we should expect Bond to be immediate. Same with Mukuba. Moore and Golden may take more time. Niblack should be ok. Texas should know what it has by end of spring ball IMO.
  25. April 15th is the next portal window barring something unforeseen. Or some attrition from Michigan that has not happened yet.
