NGL I'm ready for this portal window to end... hate seeing guys that I followed closely in recruiting leave the program.
Especially really young guys.. the older guys I get it.
Just hate it.
For sure fun if next year we're really good but don't like all the uncertainity and lack of relationships that come with building a team through the portal.
Not on the staff though, they're just doing what they think is best for the program and they're doing a great job so far.
Done freaking out over everything, but Flood and Sark better not mess up the OL, and I'm not just talking about 2026.
People don't like to hear it, but I'll say it again. ad again, and again: with the resources Texas have it should not be hard, at all, to field a very capable OL every single year. One or two guys from the portal every year is understandable, but I don't want to reley on the portal for the OL that much.
This is the OL.
You cannot build an OL year after year through the portal.
Getting one guy or two guys per cicle I understand. You can't start losing future starters at tackle or guard cause you're going all in on 2026.
Don't like this at all.
You guys can think what you want, I'd still like to have a team in 2027.
Very young guy who could've been the starter at tackle in 2027.
Doesn't make sense for him to go with the kind of film he has and inexperience.
Also, talk about seaton all you want... we need depth. And Texas football is gonna keep playing beyond 2026.
Kyle Flood... after Chris Jackson somewhat redeemed himself in my eyes, it's up to you in the next days to make me eat crow as well.
Really agree with this part.
We still did really good in the portal but clearly it's a lesson for next year imo.
We clearly tried to get the Michigan OLs to come to us, among other players at other positions, and it didn't work at all.
Hey you're right...
But we get seaton we better at the very least make the NC. No excuses.
Also I'm pretty sure all the money that Arch didn't try to squeeze out of Texas is already gone to Coleman lol...
It's just a lot of damn money at a spot (tackle) where we're really doing pretty good. Even if I get the whole argument about moving baker to RG...
2.5 starting price for Seaton is crazy tho...
Is there really no LG and RG or LG and RT in the portal that's gonna enter the portal or that's in the portal that we like?
You could easily get two really good starters for that price...
Might be wrong on this but even with all the hype I think Coleman is being "underrated".
He's litterally never played with a competent QB or offense.
He ran like 4 routes at Auburn.
Arnold last year could only throw to stationary targets and he had to see them being open to throw it to them.
I also think, with Arch at QB and Sark's offensive scheme, Coleman will drastically improve his YAC.
Not only that, but the specific combination of Wingo's horizontal threat and Coleman's vertical threat will give DCs nightmares... Just to have to worry about some explosive RBs in the backfield who are really good pass catchers aswell and a very very talented Mosley tearing up the middle of the field.
In other news Arch is tied with CJ Carr as having the best odds on Fanduel to win the Heisman next year
If you thought last year's hype was over the top wait for this year
Why did he have to be all professional too?
Couldn't he have had us panicking all the time by posting selfies at other visits and stuff?
So selfish this guy.
Let them battle for a mid QB that can't really play QB.
He's elusive and can run... everything else he's a very average QB that could get eaten alive in the SEC.
He's also dealing with a very, very serious injury that will sideline him the whole spring.
I don't fully agree with the statement that the OL improved as the year went on.
They improved marginally.
What really improved is the scheme and Arch.
As for last year I think the OL was overrated because of the competition we played.
Can Flood coach the hell out of tackles? Hell yes. I have zero doubts in him having the RT and obviously the LT spots figured out.
My concerns remain at the guard spots. I'll trust the staff, but I would have question if the only two guys we bring in are the Sikorski kid and the Bennett kid.
Dakorien Moore is not going to no damn SMU lmao what are you smoking?
That guy can go anywhere he wants in the state of Texas... SMU would not be his first, second or third choice.
It's useless to talk about it anyway. He's not leaving.
