  1. You could both be right. “Not serious” is what they are saying…but we have seen ankle sprains linger for weeks. Let’s hope it’s minor.
  2. Same here. I would rather have a Secretariat type win at the Belmont Stakes, going wire to wire and winning by 31 lengths…lol
  3. Me also. That 1977 season brings back some good memories.
  4. I have zero idea why people misremember Texas vs ags as always on Thanksgiving every year. That is history reinvented. The last 38 times (1974-2011) Texas played the ags only 14 times on Thanksgiving night. The other 24 times was the Friday or Saturday after Thanksgiving. As a UT student, I still remember driving down to College Station in 1977 on the Saturday after Thanksgiving to watch Texas and Earl Campbell beat the ags 57-28.
  5. What about Herkie Walls? He played WR for Texas in the late 70’s and/or early 80’s. He was around 5’6” and maybe 160 lbs. he was pretty explosive and also played in the NFL if my memory is correct.
  6. I’ll be glad when the August 1 MLB signing deadline passes.
  7. He’s in the 2024 recruiting class.
  8. Read the same thing. I was hoping I was wrong and looked it up. https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/player/_/id/94680/lebarron-johnson-jr 2024-2024 Lebarron Johnson Jr. signed a 1 year , $500,000 contract with the Colorado Rockies, including $500,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $500,000. CONTRACT TERMS: 1 yr(s) / $500,000 AVERAGE SALARY: $500,000 SIGNING BONUS: N/A
  9. Looked up his stats on the JUCO site and he also had 62 RBIs in 52 games.
  10. AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Baseball has announced the addition of Gehrig Mosiello as Director of Player Development on head coach Jim Schlossnagle's Staff. "We are so excited to add Gehrig to the Longhorn baseball family," Schlossnagle said. "Gehrig is intelligent, baseball savvy, hard-working and selfless. He has grown up in college baseball and has been a part of success on every stop in his short career, including a CWS trip with TCU. I have no doubt that our players and program will benefit from Gehrig's work and knowledge on a daily basis." Mosiello, who brings experience as an assistant and head coach, spent the 2024 season as an assistant working with the hitters at Johnson University under head coach Dave Serrano. During his time at TCU, Mosiello also served as an undergraduate assistant for two seasons and helped lead the horned frogs to a Big 12 regular season championship in 2022. Mosiello also served two seasons on the collegiate summer league staff of the Anchorage Glacier Pilots in the Alaska Baseball League. He was an assistant coach for the league championship team in 2022 and then became the youngest manager in league history to win a championship in 2023. As a player, Mosiello spent two seasons at Walters State Community College and was part of a team that advanced to the JUCO World Series before transferring to TCU. The Aledo, Texas product was twice named all-district and all-county while at Aledo High School. Mosiello's father, Bill, is the associate head coach at TCU after leading the Ohio State baseball program for two seasons. He previously served on the Horned Frogs staff from 2014-22.

  12. I hope this guy is correct
  13. Nice to have a player with his production returning. This season in 60 games: 340 Average, 18 HR, 56 RBI, 52 runs scored
  14. @CJ Vogel @Blake Munroe Riojas played 2 years at UTSA. He pitched in 46 games. Started 2 games but as a reliever he averaged about 2.5 innings per outing. In 2023, he was 5-0 in 20 appearances with 57 strikeouts in 46 innings and an ERA of 4.11. In 2024, he was 10-3 and 7 saves in 26 appearances with 75 strikeouts in 69 innings and an ERA of 3.25.

  18. From Las Vegas. Some comments from the circus ringleader: “We have solidified ourselves as one of the top three conferences in America,” Yormark said at Allegiant Stadium. “We are more relevant now than ever before. There has never been a better time than right now to be a part of the Big 12.” “We will be the deepest football conference in America, and every week will matter,” Yormark said. On spreading out the rivalry football games, rather than have them played on the same day in late November. For instance, BYU vs. Utah is on Nov. 9, while Baylor vs. Houston is on Nov. 23and Arizona vs. Arizona State is on Nov. 30: “Well, I think rivalries are critically important. … I mean Utah-BYU, Arizona-Arizona State, Kansas-Kansas State, Baylor-TCU are, I mean, great rivalries.” “They were focused on the rivalries that obviously mean something, not only to the history of our conference, but to our fans. And I think we landed in a great place,” Yormark said. • On if the Big 12 can catch the SEC and Big Ten in terms of television revenue, overall financial dominance and nationwide perception as a power conference: “I say this often: We are one of the three best conferences in America, and we are getting better. Think about where we were just 24 months ago, and think about where we are today. I will not stop until we are the No. 1 conference in America. That’s my ambition, and I shouldn’t have anything but that. That’s the ambition of our conference, that’s the ambition of our ADs and presidents. “Why would we be doing what we are doing if we didn’t aspire to be No. 1? We continue to get better and I like where we are going.” Yormark said a possible revenue stream the league is considering is to allow referees to wear commercial patches, which is something the NBA is already doing. “I haven’t thought through the student-athlete patch dynamic yet,” he said. “I think just given everything that is going on, it is something that is on the table for the foreseeable future. But I do believe in the officials patch. I think it is the right thing to do right now.”
  19. I don’t know where they currently stand but… I read that the roster size for next season is a 40 man limit. Of these up to 32 players can receive scholarships/partial scholarships. The 32 is up from the 27 normal limit due to the Covid season. This information wasn’t from the NCAA but I read that in a couple of places. Maybe someone can correct me if that is wrong.
