  1. Interesting that Michael Early is part of the Texas staff but the only one not to change his twitter to Texas. Apparently he interviewed with the ags for the HC position but also rumored to be hired as AHC by a new coach in an attempt by the aggies to keep players from transferring. His twitter page as of 4pm today shows that he is hitting coach for the aggies. I hope he is not recruiting for the aggies while employed by Texas. I’m sure the ags would be ok with that. https://x.com/earleybaseball?s=11&t=EfVYARFavz4bjn9zglBDrQ
  2. Not sure I understand. Isn’t Nolan Cain the AHC and recruiting coordinator for Coach Schlossnagle?
  3. Funny stuff. Ags won’t think so.
  4. ”Defend A&M and what it stands for”…Pretty funny tweet considering they hired Mark Stoops but then fans threw a fit and they had him turn his plane around and go back to Kentucky. I guess she means A&M stands for untrustworthy.
  5. Geez. Some of these guys are unhinged. They are borderline scary to begin with and now they are totally amped up.
  6. I guess ags view this differently.
  7. After reading thru several threads I think it wasn’t as complicated as we all thought. Apparently CDC and Schloss are close friends. Sounds like once CDC knew he was going to make a change he turned to his trusted friend, Coach Schloss. And Schloss apparently held the UT job in high esteem. But Schloss and the aggies kept winning which caused a delay. Might be a bit more complicated than that but maybe not.
  8. If he doesn’t want to play TE and the coaching staff thinks that‘s the position where he might be elite, then is there a reason to hold a spot for him? JT Sanders needed some work but he wanted to play TE not defense. Maybe not apples to apples but you have to be willing or what’s the point. As Gerry and you said above, Nick Townsend wants to play TE.
  9. @Bobby Burton Maybe you can talk them into letting @Gerry Hamilton do a manscape ad for the stadium video boards. 😀
  10. Hell, just load up the non conference schedule with Ohio State, Michigan, USC and Notre Dame and then fire the coach if he doesn’t win them all. There is a reason that Georgia and Alabama have been successful and won several titles recently. They are good and also not dumb. They plan a cupcake towards the end of the season. Not because they are afraid, but because the SEC schedule is bruising and it gives them a chance to heal up. But somehow Texas, who hasn’t won a NC since 2005 and only 2 NC in the past 50 years has it all figured out. No wonder everyone hates us. We’re more worried about spending $200 unless it’s a marquee game. Nothing screams beta and more than that.
  11. I figured it was a verbal he said/she said scenario. I didn’t think they would be dumb enough to put it in writing and then not honor it.
  12. He barely made it thru last season. If they can use this as a reason to get rid of him and avoid the buyout (not sure the amount) or reduce it then he may be toast.
  13. I’m not buying the story from him or whoever his handlers are. Maybe we will find out but probably not once lawyers are involved. His recruitment per Wikipedia: Rashada initially committed to play college football at Miami over offers from LSU, Florida, Mississippi, and Texas A&M.[7] It was reported that Rashada received a Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) offer of up to $9.5 after his commitment to Miami.[8] He later denied that any deal had been offered to him.[9] He later flipped his commitment to Florida.[10]Shortly before he was set to enroll for Florida's 2023 spring semester, Rashada requested a release from his National Letter of Intent.[11] It was later reported that a $13.85 million NIL deal with the Gator Collective, an athletic booster group that is unaffiliated with Florida's athletic program, had fallen through.[12]Rashada ultimately enrolled at Arizona State, where his father had played.[13]
  14. The police were working a traffic fatality in the dark and rain. From the accounts I have read there was confusion and it was a rather chaotic scene. No one could have anticipated or expected a fatality and there were additional police present that they hadn’t planned for. In the confusion it sounds like there was plenty of blame to go around. Scheffler handled it with class….like we have all come to expect. I think he was in shock because he thought he was doing the right thing and was arrested. Sounds like he was told one thing by one police officer and something different by another police officer. I think the felony charge is overboard though and hopefully they will drop the charges and realize it was a tragic situation made even worse by the arrest. Meanwhile, a guy crossing the street in the dark to work the tournament is dead. That is where we should focus…and exactly what Scheffler did. His situation will get resolved, the family of the killed worker is now planning a funeral.
  15. He was a natural in front of the camera and very articulate. Great interview Gerry.
  16. Maybe Durkin will tell Lacy that he will make a great DB at Auburn.
  17. I’ll take a wild swing and say Chick-Fil-A

  19. Really happy for Worthy. Pretty cool to see him in his new surroundings.

Ouro Teams Up with Texas One Fund with Multi-Year NIL X World Wallet Financial Empowerment Program for University of Texas Student-Athletes Largest Program of Its Kind with NIL Nonprofit Collective to Equip Student-Athletes to Take Control of Financial Futures AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Ouro, a global fintech company founded in 1999 by former University of Texas (UT) students and Netspend founders Roy and Bertrand Sosa, today announced a game changing partnership with Texas One Fund, the Official NIL Collective of University of Texas Athletics, that is inclusive of benefits for all UT student-athletes. The multi-year partnership offers financial literacy training and money management programs, and the opportunity for all eligible student-athletes across all 21 men’s and women’s sports teams to participate and be compensated. This is an incredible opportunity for all of our student-athletes,” said Chris Del Conte, Vice President and Athletics Director of The University of Texas at Austin. “Like all young people, they need to build financial skills and judgment, and their unique circumstances make the need especially critical. With Ouro’s willingness to collaborate with Texas One Fund on an initiative that gives every student on every team a financial opportunity now and skills for the future is tremendous.” Through the partnership, UT student-athletes who register for the X World Wallet, Ouro’s digital multi-currency wallet and payments app, will qualify to earn regular payouts as they promote the product and complete monthly financial training sessions and share their experience with the program across social media and various other marketing activities. “Student-athletes know better than anyone that the small stuff, the everyday choices are what lead to big wins,” said Roy Sosa, Ouro Co-founder and CEO. “That’s the focus we’re bringing to their financial futures with the X World Wallet NIL program: here’s a tool and income you can use today along with the coaching and skills you need to make sure it pays off in the future, too.” The program will kick off with a two-phased launch, beginning with an initial rollout this spring, and expand in the fall 2024 as various sports teams return for their new seasons. "We believe this partnership with Ouro will be transformative for our student-athletes," said Patrick “Wheels” Smith, President of Texas One Fund. "It aligns perfectly with our mission to prepare students for success with integrity in all aspects of their lives – by equipping students with practical money skills and a cutting-edge financial tool, Ouro is investing in their long-term success on and off the field." Ouro’s NIL program exemplifies the company’s founding commitment to expanding access to financial management tools and education and responds to a pressing need among college students, especially student-athletes navigating NIL opportunities. "This NIL program is at the core of Ouro's financial empowerment mission as we continue to reimagine financial services on a global scale," added Bertrand Sosa, Ouro Co-founder, President and Chief Brand Officer. “Our collaboration with Texas One Fund is an immense source of pride and inspiration, because we know first-hand the power of ‘what starts here changes the world.’” X World Wallet users can load their accounts from an existing bank account, debit card or credit card, spend money loaded on the accounts anywhere Visa debit cards are accepted, send money to other X users instantly, earn X points on everyday purchases that convert to cash instantly, exchange currencies in real-time, and more.
