I think we were watching different games. After taking a 14-0 lead about halfway thru the second quarter Michigan had 1 first down until the winning drive. UM had to punt after making one first down, 4 punts on three and outs plus a fumble around their own 10. And then UM moved the ball on their winning drive for the first time in 2 and 1/2 quarters. Michigan had about 10 yards of total offense in the second half before that drive. USC was anything but playing soft. I don’t like Riley and hope he loses every game but their defense gave them a chance by stopping UM on 6 straight possessions. If anything it was Riley’s offense that cost them the game IMO. They scored 3 points in the first half and threw a pick 6 in the second half. I hope Faraimo chooses us but I liked our chances better for the California player when it looked like it was between us and ND. I guess we will see if Nansen can work his magic. A lot of football left to be played. Hook’em.

As long as Sark is here I am not worried about the QB position. Give me Arch for 2027 and I’ll just trust that Sark can figure it out from there. We are getting spoiled and I am not sure we (including myself) truly appreciate the talent level of QB that Sark is recruiting in real time.

Yeah, that is a phrase that brings a bit of PTSD for me….lol

I shouldn’t be surprised but that’s pretty poor sportsmanship at best. Must be worried they can’t sell players on their school straight up without resorting to tactics like that.

Despite LSU being the beneficiary of 2 pick 6 negated by questionable penalties against S Carolina he is going to ask the SEC to review another call. I hope the SEC tells him to STFU and be thankful.

In the 3rd quarter SC has run 6 plays for one total yard and 2 punts. Yikes.

They’ve been able to run the ball. I wonder if UM will bring Davis Warren back today or just roll with Alex Orji at QB.

Michigan needs to run the ball. Their QB is killing them. One INT at their own 15, one at the Ark St 31 right before half and the 3rd one at their own 36. Good thing UM has a really good defense. They have held them to 3 points thru 3 quarters.

The KSU last year is a good example. We are up 17-0 in the 2nd qtr and he threw an INT fairly deep in KSU territory. Then in the 4th qtr we are up 2 TD’s and he threw an INT deep in our own territory. KSU got the ball around our 10 yard line and scored. Hopefully he will make better decisions with more experience.

Great breakdown. Klatt is very articulate and my favorite TV announcer for college football. Really glad that Klatt and Gus Johnson are announcing the game especially after hearing Klatt say how excited he is for this game.

In 2022 they didn’t allow more than 27 points until TCU beat them in the playoffs, and allowed under 20 points ten times (6 games they allowed 10 or fewer points). in 2023 they didn’t allow more than 24 points all season and held their first 10 opponents to 15 points or fewer (in 7 of those games they allowed 7 points or less). Ohio State has been recruiting at a high level and Michigan has beaten tOSU 3 straight years and OSU hasn’t scored more than 27 points in any of those games. And OSU had CJ Stroud (no 2 overall draft pick in 2023), 4 first round WR draft picks in Marvin Harrison Jr (4th ovrerall pick in 2024, Jaxon Smith-Njigba (20th overall pick in 2023), Garrett Wilson (10th overall pick in 2022), Chris Olave (11th overall pick in 2022). That’s not to mention several OL that were highly drafted.

FSU had 42 pass attempts. Only had 16 rush attempts for 21 yards and DJU had 8 of those. FSU only had 8 rushing attempts by RB’s….yikes.

Gerry, as a follow up to this how would you rank the teams with the toughest DL that Texas will play this year. It seems like most SEC teams have at least one good defensive lineman (plus you have Michigan’s DL).
