  1. I think part of the problem with a lack of knowledge of UT football history can be attributed to a lack of success over the last 15 or so. However, I think a larger problem is the abundance of activities to occupy young men today. As a young boy growing up in the late 69s and early 70s I had far fewer distractions. There were three TV channels and I watched every broadcasted game I could. Magazines like “Football Digest” and Dave Campbell’s “Texas Football” dominated my days. I remember lying in bed listening to Houston Astros’ broadcasts on my transistor radio. Watching the DarrellRoyal Show with Cactus Pryor was a must during the season.
  2. It is difficult to be mad at Blake because as a lifetime Rangers fan he has known nothing but heartache and ridicule. The once in a lifetime championship has obviously gone to his head. 😉
  3. Looks very athletic (his sub 40 in the 300s is very good for someone who is 6’6”) but his level of competition is very questionable. However, if Banks and Sark want him , then he is a take.
  4. Great interview. I have often wondered if college athletics would be better served by a NCAA that is divided by division. For example, one arm of the NCAA would cover Division III, one would cover Division II, etc. The issues and problems that affect Mary-Harding Baylor (Division III) greatly differ than those affecting UT. It could also be divided by gender. For example Division II may allow transgenders to participate in women’s sports but Division III does not. In addition, there could be a super conference of the top 48-64 teams made up of SEC, Big 10, ACC, etc. that would apply only to football. It would also have different rules like national signing day, NIL, etc. I realize it does seem farfetched and highly unlikely to come fruition. Just thinking out loud.
  5. While I would love to see either one of those guys in a Cowboy uniform, I believe that there are bigger needs for the Cowboys, especially at #24.
  6. My first thought is, “Well there is always one or two knuckleheads in every crowd”. However, there seems to be quite a number if knuckleheads in that relatively small crowd, so yeah Texas Tech is a classless group of Aholes.
  7. Of course this is all to be taken at an individual level. I guess I should have stated that but it did not seem necessary. I think Earl Campbell is a great example of how the wear and tear of year after year of pounding a RB absorbs can be detrimental. However, I think a good question is how much of his HS and college careers contribute to his health issues later in life? Or were his physical issues, after he retired, more due to his pro career? I am not sure if those questions dan be honestly answered.
  8. Some of those highlights are electric. I can see why Sark and the staff are in on him.
  9. I agree but my point was that those players hitting that particular RB are also 15, 16, or 17 year old players. They lack full physical maturity as well as the RB. Can those hits take a physical toll? Yes. However, I still would be more concerned about an elevated number of carries, and the possible damage done, at the college level as opposed to the HS level.
  10. That is a good point but not one that is a deal breaker IMO. I personally believe that level of carries and therefore the number of hits at the HS level is of far less concern than a similar number of a college player going pro.
  11. Some players are so talented that their ultimate position is murky. I have no problem with the ‘get them on campus and figure out their position later’ avenue for a very few players. JT Sanders was a good example of that. I am one among many who believe he could have been a fantastic DE.
  12. I like the way UT is handling this so far. However, once UT devises a plan (based on legal advice) they need to implement it with all haste and be aggressive.
  13. After watching the video, I am still waiting to see someone block him.
  14. The only problem I would have picking Oregon in the B1G is whether they can handle the extreme cold/wind/snow/sleet they will encounter in November at Ohio State or Michigan.
  15. Another great episode. OTF puts every other channel covering the Longhorns to shame.
  16. I would love to see AD in KC and Worthy in Atlanta. KC needs a top notch WR badly and teaming Worthy and Bijan would be fun to watch.
  17. I have watched every game so far and while I do not think that we should crown them NCAA Champs, yet. I do see a team that can be very good and should make a deep run in the playoffs.
  18. I believe he and Helms will be a very lethal combination.
  19. Great video. This ruling potentially can create a number of problems. Today if a HS player commits (or even signs a LOI) and gets a better offer, he can get out of it. If he signs a contract with a school’s collective, does that contract bind him to that school and if so, for how long? Who looks out the player’s best interest? In the past we have all seen college players going pro sign terrible contracts because they had a family member ( VY if I remember correctly) negotiating for them. Who will govern the collectives to ensure that the players are not cheated?
  20. I saw the championship game and he was fun to watch. As far as the question goes, I think it is too early to say that. If he leads his team to a fourth championship and he continues his domination, then I would say yes. For those of you who would argue he will never play D1 football or basketball, who cares. He has dominated his level of play like few others in any of the classification.
  21. Welcome to the newest website covering the Longhorns. If this site is anything like the OTF YouTube channel, it soon will the biggest site.
  22. Thanks for the info.
  23. While this period of time is generally rather slow as far as the team and recruiting goes, I do love the info about ‘25 and ‘26 recruits. It is a great time to hear about and discuss potential future Longhorns.
  24. I agree with UT taking a cautious route while the new ruling is being fleshed out. As Bobby said, Texas is far better prepared for NIL today than it was a few years ago. I do not know if the leader of the Tenn. collective is working in conjunction with the football staff or not but if this ruling becomes permanent then I fully expect UT and the Texas One Fund to do what is best for our players, program, and the university.
