  1. Not a bad attitude. Today is still America’s birthday. We are still the greatest nation on the planet and the envy of the world. We have a strong team, playing in the nation’s best conference, and there are but one or two schools who would not want our rooster. I personally will wake up and watch Coffee and Football and look forward to the next recruit. Will he break my heart like Zion, Sharma, and DK? Maybe, but in bitter defeat, lessons can still be learned.
  2. You maybe or you maybe wrong. I side with wrong. Texas recruiting since Sark got here has been outstanding. The fact we lost several key recruits, at the last minute, stings to be sure. However, it is not the end of the world. Tomorrow morning I will get up and watch Coffee and Football, the sun wise rise and life will go on. Dk followed his heart (which I know from personal experience doesn’t always work) instead of his head. In a few days another recruit will chose Texas and we will all feel better. DK will not make or break this team. Do not let him break you.
  3. I think we all can agree that losing Bo hurt UT greatly with committed and non committed DL. IMO, if Sark had gotten a better known college coach (especially with years of experience coaching and recruiting in the South) to replace Bo we would have done better in recruiting this cycle. However, by going with Baker (who I believe will be as good or better than Bo) he was looking at the long game and will benefit UT greatly. Any thoughts?
  4. Any chance any of the a&m player in the portal will follow Schloss to UT?
  5. As mentioned on Monday’s ‘Coffee and Football’, recruiting is more of a team effort these days. Sark, the coordinator, and the position coach tend to be all involved in the recruitment. As I understood it, the HC got involved in special cases but now is involved in almost every player. Social media, NIL, and so many other factors require, I believe, multiple coaches working a player.
  6. Any word on any of the a&m bats coming our way?
  7. The app for the Longhorn Network is up and running. I looked it over a little bit and it has good possibilities. https://watch.longhornnetwork.com/home#
  8. Many years ago I coached at Santa Maria HS, located a few miles north of the Mexican border in the RGV. Anyway, we were in the same district as Freer one year I was there. We finished our pregame warmup and were on the sideline waiting for the National Anthem and the school schools. The sun was setting and as the Freer team came running out to line up on their sideline they blocked out the setting sun. I had never seen as large a team at the 2A level ever before. They were freaking huge. We had 18 players on our team and they were close to 50 players. Needless to say we lost and lost big. Congrats to Bam Bam and good luck to the band. I donated.
  9. I may be old and a traditionalist but I think Oregon’s uniforms are ugly.
  10. Lowell was great and I hope he is a part of the new UT programming.
  11. While most of these simulations are fun to watch I don’t think that they are overly realistic in terms of time management or play calling. With that being said, watch and enjoy.
  12. I assume that Alabama’s ranking is more based on their head coach’s history as opposed to actual offensive talent on the team.
  13. I think that is only for football. At least that was the discussion yesterday on OTF.
  14. A&M fans screaming about breaking rules is laughable. Isn’t A&M still one of the most (if not the most) penalized team in NCAA history?
  15. Thanks for the info and cannot wait for the next bit of info. Keep up the good work.
  16. Would have loved to have seen him at UT.
  17. Great work Bobby.
  18. Cannot go wrong with either coach.
  19. I have said this before and repeat it often, OTF is the best venue for Texas Longhorn football recruiting and UT sports in general. Bobby and Gerry are the best duo covering UT on YouTube. The rest of the crew (CJ, Rod, Blake, Coach Shipley, etc) round out a high performing team. Being an OTFOG allows me insight and coverage that is second to none, especially since there are none of the annoying threads that routinely pop up on other sites. Thanks and keep up the good work.
