  1. Thanks for the info. Since Schloss is at UT and not at A&M, I would assume that favors us.
  2. While your statement may be correct, it really doesn’t matter. What matters is who is getting significant snaps during crunch rime of big games (Mich, Georgia, OU, a&m).
  3. That is very interesting. I would think that graduating early, playing baseball, and participating in Spring football practice would favor Texas. Schloss being here gives us a leg up, IMO.
  4. Thanks for the updates and looking forward to many, many more today.
  5. Unfortunately, I am only able to make it to Austin to see one or two games a year so I can understand the season ticket holders being upset with this schedule. However, much like SEC football teams, maybe he is trying to get some wins to pad the team’s resume before the tournament.
  6. As a Cowboy and Longhorn fan, D’Mo being successful in Dallas is a win-win.
  7. I think you have proven your point. However, keep in mind that Bush and Taffe did or are doing what over 95% of this board have never done, which is play D1 football. Should Texas have all 4 or 5 stars on the field all times, maybe in a perfect world. However, since we do not live in a perfect world we need to keep in mind that these young men are living the dream that so many of us have had but never experienced. So continually pointing out their shortcomings does no favors to this board, the players, or yourself.
  8. Blake, I think that baseball uses analytics as much or more than any other sport. Can you go into how much Schloss uses analytics compared to our previous staff? Plus, while the title ‘Director of Analytics’ seems self explanatory, can you go into the position’s exact job description?
  9. I have quite a few signed memorabilia items. Mostly Longhorn and Cowboy but I do have others like my pic of Kenneth Hall, the one time leader in HS rushing and TDs. However, this is probably one of my favorites. Not a great picture but acceptable.
  10. Great news. Recruit through the whistle.
  11. Taylor was one hell of a LB in the late 70s. I had a coaching friend of mine, who played and lost to Taylor’s HS team, that he was the vest LB he had ever seen.
  12. He was a very good player. A look below.
  13. Any info on how this will affect the walk-on program at UT?
  14. A look at Earl while in HS.
  15. Such a tease. Seriously, I appreciate your input and keep up the good work.
  16. How would Gerry or anyone on any UT board know what is going on except for what he is told by the player, family member, or a coach? Do players, agents, or family members have agendas that Gerry does not know? Probably. For example, Sharma told numerous people he was coming to Texas but changed his mind. DK committed to UT on his OV but changed his mind. We are talking about 16, 17, 18 year olds who are a bundle of hormones who change their minds quicker than some run a 40. If you feel that you are being deceived or not getting money’s worth…leave.
  17. I have said it before, I would love to see UT play the service academies. It may not always be great football but it would be a fantastic way for our great university to pay homage to the young men and women who willingly will put their lives on the line for us.
  18. Interesting. He was a very good player in the NFL. He has served several administrative positions within a couple of NFL teams. He knows the league and has experience evaluating talent. A chance to work with Sark and be around his daily sounds like an opportunity too good to pass up.
  19. Looking forward to big things from him this season.
  20. A confident, well spoken young man who appears to have a good head on his shoulders. He will do well at UT and I think will be a great representative of the school.
  21. Is that a nod to Mel Gibson and The Patriot?
  22. I personally think the need for a “speed receiver” is a bit overdone. Sure a couple of 10.3 or 10.4 guys a class is nice but we aren’t exactly recruiting 4.7 or 4.8 guys now. If Johnson, Hines, or even Wilson goes elsewhere is not the end of the world especially if Ffrench commits to UT. JMO
  23. I believe his mother said it wasn’t that much and according to most sites, UT matched or exceeded Oregon’s NIL offer.
  24. Sark has always said he likes the college game. I can see him finishing his career at UT, if things go accordingly. He make a great deal of money, has almost complete control of the team, dealing with 17-22 year olds can be preferable to grown men, and he seems to like meeting and greeting recruits and their parents.
