  1. Booker also needs to be more aggressive with the long range shot. She's a good shooter but they seem to be coached to look inside and only shoot 3s when completely wide open or up against the clock.
  2. JT Sanders from Napa?? Is Denton, TX the new Napa?
  3. Was surprised to not see Ole Miss on there either.
  4. The program grew to be very stale and what's not mentioned is how bad recruiting had fallen off. The state of Texas had some really loaded in-state classes especially in 2012, 2013 & 2014 as well as 2015 that he was mostly shut out from. We had players telling key recruits not to come to Texas. From that standpoint it was almost similar to Tom Herman's ending but Barnes was actually liked as a person and there wasn't the Eyes of Texas mess going on.
  5. I can only think it's the boost Gerry normally gives to Florida guys once they get to College and takeoff physically. Probably sees them as similar players now but Ffrench has more potential due to lack of facilities in Florida and feels Lockett is closer to a finished product for the same reason but that's just a guess.
  6. They pretty much whiffed everywhere outside of OL but those guys have been worth their weight in gold and is a large part of bringing Texas "back".
  7. It was their Super Bowl. They were smoking cigars and had shirts printed up. The only thing missing was a parade and trip to Disney World. Too bad they forgot there was half a season left to play.
  8. The thing that's so weird and/or funny about OU is the only thing that's giving them hope (besides Mateer bring superman and coming to rescue their program single-handedly) is the '23 season in which they won 10 games. They seem to forget that the Big 12 gave them a super easy schedule full of layups in which they were able to ignore their first 5 opponents and sleepwalk to wins as they put all their focus into a game vs us that we still probably should've won. With that victory over us they should've been able to waltz to the big 12 championship and instead they drop the games to KU & Oklahoma St. That season and victory over us is actually going to cost them a few more years of rebuilding in the long run and I'm here for it. 🤘🏿
  9. What are his ties to Texas? Seeing a TE from California that's very high on Georgia and wears #19 worries me a bit.
  10. This really didn't apply this year as both of Notre Dame & Ohio State's 1st round opponents had the same amount of rest as they did and then they both beat "rested" teams in the next round.
  11. I don't know but I'm not sure there's a Texas player I've enjoyed watching less than Kadin Shedrick. Can't even imagine how different this team would be with a JT Toppin in his place.
  12. I don't think so. If you paid attention to them at all over the last couple years you could see this coming. All year long everyone knew the season would culminate in a showdown between Duncanville and North Crowley and most that knew both teams felt like that game would be a coin flip.
  13. We waited 4-5 years to see him star but he got on the field and produced as a freshman. We can't even get to the point of seeing Jaray on the field.
  14. The part where he's talking about J-Whitt giving him the blueprint made me really think about Johntay and how the culture forced him out instead of allowing him to poison the well. That stuff doesn't exactly play out that way under previous regimes, especially with someone that has the talent and notoriety of Johntay.
  15. Is the Players Era Festival a true tournament and not just a showcase? They already have the matchups set for the 2nd day which isn't something you'd see in a true tournament setting/format.
  16. I'm not gonna lie, first time I heard of it I thought it was a Culinary Arts trade school.
  17. Not to mention they only won by 4 at home against someone named Le Moyne.
  18. Other than him commenting on Graceson Littleton's commitment that he'd cook him, I haven't seen anything.
  19. So, when kids are playing AAU (or spring/summer club ball) at a high level the teams they are playing for are usually affiliated with one brand or another. Being affiliated with that brand has you playing the majority of your games in their exclusive circuit where you only playing against Nike or Adidas or Under Armor teams. Chavez has been the best player on one of the best Nike teams (Cy-Fair) on the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL) for a number of years now. With a kid that good, Nike has identified her as one of their future stars and that relationship over the years is one they hope to parlay into a professional one when the time is right. Could she go against the grain and sign with an Adidas school and still sign with Nike afterwards? Sure but Nike would probably prefer that the little girls that buy up all of the Aaliyah Chavez college jerseys have the Nike swoosh in the corner and not the three stripes. Hope that helps explain it some.
  20. I hear you but using the most spoiled fanbase in all of cfb sort of proves my point. We shouldn't be that and after what we've endured over the last decade+ I'd just hope we'd appreciate where we are a bit more.
  21. Man, I'm a little embarrassed that so many fans left the stands by this point. I know the game was in hand and maybe it was extremely hot in the stadium or something but it wasn't that long ago that Strong and Herman were on our sidelines while we were getting thumped by the likes of Oklahoma St & BYU. I would think we'd savor times like this. 🤷🏿‍♂️
  22. Weaver was my first thought but then I thought about mimicking last year's starting lineup and potentially running & gunning from the start with Larry in the lineup.
  23. @Gerry Hamilton with the news of Tramon Mark likely being out for tomorrow's season opener, who would you go with to replace him the starting lineup? Larry, Weaver or Kent??
  24. The way that rivalry goes is the games are close at Jordan-Hare and complete beatdowns in Tuscaloosa. Even with Bama down, I'm not sure anyone expects this Auburn team to go on the road and keep it within 20 of the Tide.
  25. You still think Presley is higher in the pecking order than Pryor?
