  1. This is what we call an overreaction. How quickly do we forget what Xavier Worthy, Adonai Mitchell, Matthew Golden, and a healthy Isaiah Bond looked like in this offense.
  2. On which play are you referring to?
  3. I actually think that was Shannon that was open on that play.
  4. This. I had to shake my head when I saw Bobby and some others talk about the WRs not getting an open when they were running open all day and Arch was missing them. First play of the game, not only was Deandre Moore wide open but Jack Endries was wide open right behind Moore. Arch had two open options and threw it in the dirt. On 4th & 3 from the 9 where Arch tries to hit Livingstone on the slot fade, Wingo is open for a 1st down and potentially td on a slant but Arch was locked on Livingstone. And then there's Arch missing a wide open Wingo on the big 3rd & 5 on the last possession.
  5. Was the type of kid that watched the Sonic Inside High School Football highlights on Saturday mornings instead of cartoons. My favorite holiday was New Year's Day because as a kid growing up without cable I was forced to watch the SWC and Notre Dame only and New Year's Day was when the teams I couldn't normally watch were on network TV all day. Long way of saying I've been a sports freak for as long as I can remember. Now to the question at hand, having been forced to endure the Raycom Game of the Week as my Football match my 3-4 year old self saw a team with a uniform that said Texas on the front and I knew Texas was where I was living and where I was born and instantly I felt that team represented me. Sure, there were other teams like Texas Tech and Texas A&M that also had the state in the name but my 3-4 year old self couldn't tell you what a Tech or A&M was so for me its always been that simple.
  6. I do wonder what things would look like had Bond not had his off field issues prior to the draft. Texas could've been looking at sending Worthy & Mitchell as 1st & 2nd rounders and then Golden & Bond as 1st & 2nd rounders in back to back seasons.
  7. I don't think we need to worry at all as long as Sark is still in Austin.
  8. It's not a complete surprise given how good he was in HS. Some guys have it come so easy that they just cruise by on natural ability but when they show up to college and realize that the WR room has 7 other guys just like you then you may start to realize that how you approached things in HS may not get you on the field.
  9. They do but for the sake of this exercise I don't know that it will matter. I don't see a scenario where they will have us, OU, Florida or Georgia only play 3 home conference games while playing a neutral site in addition to 5 road conference games. The neutral site game will technically be the swing game but it makes too much sense to not simply do 4 & 4 with the 1 neutral game.
  10. It will probably be: Neutral - OU Home - Arky, S Carolina, Mizzou, Auburn Away - Ole Miss, LSU, Tennessee, A&M
  11. I would hope the SEC would smarten up and shift one of aggy/arky so that we get one of them at home and the other on the road while OU stays neutral every year. It's dumb to have us go on the road to play both in the same year and then have us host both the same year.
  12. Gerry, how would you compare him to CJ Baxter coming out?
  13. I'll probably be crucified for this but I wasn't upset about the loss in 2016 as it seemed our "leadership" was hellbent on bringing Bad Luck Chuck back for a 4th season before that game ultimately sealed his fate.
  14. KJ will help the defense on scout team simulating a Sam Leavitt at QB.
  15. We're definitely fully aware of Klare and we'll have a stud transfer portal TE of our own in Jack Endries. I still think Texas (especially in game 1) will be able to rattle Sayin in his first start with what is imo the best pass rush in cfb. While your Smith, Klare, Tate, Innis, etc scare me those guys still need Sayin to get them the ball. Cutting off the head of the snake makes it much easier to neutralize all of those weapons. Think of the 2007 New England Patriots vs the NY Giants in the Super Bowl. As great as Brady's weapons in Moss, Welker & co. were the Giants rattled the great Tom Brady enough that it neutralized all of those great weapons. At the end of the year, I think Sayin and Ohio St will be much more dangerous but for game 1 of his career against this opponent, it's a bit of a tall task.
  16. I will say that I am worried that our secondary may devolve back to its '23 version without Mukuba & Jahdae and that'd be a huge problem with the that Ohio St WR room. That's the one thing still giving me pause but I believe the pass rush will negate it to the point that Sayin will start but we'll see Keinholz some as things get a little overwhelming for the young QB. Think Georgia at Texas this past year.
  17. I get being high on the upside of youngsters but you can't replace the experience Howard, Judkins, Henderson and all those defensive guys had with just talent especially when you consider they had talent too. Our pass rush vs an inexperienced Sayin and Patricia/Hartline trying to replace Knowles/Kelly in game one is why I think Texas leaves with the win.
  18. My brother is on staff at Clemson and for whatever reason Louisville & Syracuse have given them fits over the years so watch for those too.
  19. I believe Pierce is from Lucas Lovejoy, same HS as Parker Livingstone, Dailyn McCutcheon and one CJ Vogel.
  20. I knew about the year before but I thought Ohio St was #1 last year given all the guys that turned down the draft to return plus the portal additions. They were most everyone's pick to win it last pre-season.
  21. Wasn't Ohio St #1 entering last year?
  22. They've got some good receivers as well. Their best WR missed the Texas game as well and they've gotten some good ones out of the portal along with stud freshman Dallas Wilson.
  23. Without inside info, this seems to have played out very similarly to what happened with Yaya Gaad last cycle.
  24. Sounds like they accepted his commitment but told him to hold off on announcing. Remember, he had a date set to announce and then pushed it back (probably told by staff to hold off announcing). After seeing others jump in the boat and still not being given the green light to announce he probably felt he was being put on the backburner while in recruiting circles people are viewing him as a Texas commit. Better for him to get out in front of it than to be trapdoored closer to NSD with no seat to sit in once the music stops playing. I wish good luck to the young man.
