  1. • 16 teams in conference • Play 18 conference games • Play OU/Arky/Aggy home and away • Play everyone else once • Non-conference will be padded with buy games after bigger games with Ohio St, UConn, NC State and two of Syracuse/Tech/St Joseph.
  2. Agreed. I love horns basketball and while some of my posts may read as if I'm a sunshine pumper, I can definitely see the bottom falling out of a roster like this if things don't break right. We've got a lot of score first guys that came from losing programs. The optimist in me says they learned from those situations and are now willing to sacrifice and do the little things that contribute to winning but we're still talking about young guys with aspirations of going to the NBA while thinking they have to score to get there. Some of them still haven't figured why there are guys playing in the summer league that will average 20+ ppg and not sniff an NBA roster while there will be other guys averaging 5 ppg contributing to playoff teams in the NBA. RT has assembled a good amount of talent and it will take a valiant effort from the entire coaching staff to get this group to buy in but IF they do...look out!!
  3. Yeah, I said back when Beard was assembling his first team at Texas that the only potential NBA prospect on that team was Jaylon Tyson. The only other NBA type guys we've had were Ron Holland and AJ Johnson that never showed up, Dillon Mitchell who hasn't learned how to consistently make a shot outside of 10ft, and Arterio Morris for obvious reasons. Outside of Tre Johnson, Devon Pryor might be the one other potential NBA prospect just in terms of athleticism and body type provided he puts it all together and he probably doesn't get off the bench for a second consecutive year.

  5. Tre has the highest reputation but until he does it at this level he's more of an unknown for me than Pope or Mark. Now, if he lives up to the hype and becomes that clear 1st option while blending well with Pope (who I would rank ahead of Mark offensively) and Mark then as you mentioned we will be well on our way to a good to great season. If Kaluma can figure some things out and join the party then watch the hell out!!
  6. Man, you said a lot but failed to mention Jordan Pope who I think will be an awesome player for Texas. He's pretty close to a 1-to-1 comparison to Abmas & Carr of the last two teams. I think he'll be an elite player for us as well but the way he, Tre & Tramon gel and develop chemistry will determine if we look like a well-oiled machine on the perimeter or if its just three talented guys trying to go 1 on 1 each time down the court.
  7. I can say as a kid I was a big fan of Cincinnati basketball coached by Bob Huggins because of their uniforms and relationship with Jordan brand in the late 90s/early 2000s.
  8. Speaking as someone that's worked in education 10+ years I can tell that whenever I asked kids who their favorite college teams were it was always the same answers. For basketball it was Kentucky or Duke and for football it was always Oregon and Alabama. The Alabama reason was obvious but all the kids loved the Oregon uniforms and all their variations. Now with NIL and the even deeper affiliation with Nike, Oregon being kids' favorite schools is now translating to commitments imo.
  9. That is until Oregon decides to get him just because they feel like it.
  10. Love his game based on watching a few full games on ESPN+ after he and Kent committed. Love both their games and the entire Indiana State team was a really fun watch. I'm hopeful that Larry/Kent/Weaver can provide a similar mentality that the bench group of Rice/Bishop/Brock did for that '22-23 team.
  11. Maybe that Louisville game was a sneak peak into what he's capable of and not just a one-off...??
  12. Don't forget Jamaree Caldwell (UH transfer DT that went to Oregon) or Alex Foster who some dubbed a T'Vondre Sweat starter kit.
  13. After seeing what Caitlin Clark did for the Iowa program, Texas HAS to land Chavez.
  14. There were plenty of Arkansas fans that stated it was common knowledge in Fayetteville. Mark got dragged into those rumors which I believe were said to be untrue but there were a few constants in those rumors and Brazile was one of the consistent names at the center of those rumors.
  15. He was at the center of the team's love triangle. Not sure about adding that to our locker room after it completely destroyed Arkansas' season. Plus, Mark just left that environment and who knows if he would want Brazile around.
  16. I don't believe Jadyn Toppin is a brother of Obi Toppin, if they are even related. Maybe a distant cousin but not his brother. You may be confusing Jadyn Toppin with Jacob Toppin. Jadyn is from Dallas and I don't remember the others having any ties to the DFW area.
  17. Yeah, supposedly he wanted to put hands on Beard for what he felt was tampering with Disu.
  18. Yeah, Pope reminds me a lot of Nijel Pack.
  19. Thinking he may go back closer to home so maybe Florida St or Miami or someone like that.
  20. Obviously not Gerry but I don't see Griffin coming with Mark in & Johnson coming. I really hope the rumor on Pope is true but I'm still also hoping for Julian Larry to come aboard as well.
  21. He did go to a ton of high schools but to my knowledge it was his choice to leave those schools. It wasn't like he was kicked out and each and every one of those schools would've gladly had him stay additional years. Now college seems to be a little different based on stuff from the Georgia boards and what the SC mods posted above. Guess we'll see.
  22. Man, I don't know if I'd touch anyone from that Arkansas roster. Their chemistry (or lack thereof) killed their season and drove their coach west.
  23. You'd be surprised. There's a 3-time Super Bowl mvp that couldn't get close to winning one.
  24. Isaacs can certainly shoot the ball but Isaacs isn't a PG regardless of what position they list him at.
