I don't know that Singleton moves the needle. There was a reason our interest waned after we got him on campus and saw him in-person.

I've never really considered ND much of a threat in '26 outside the fact that they'll play a weak schedule and be in the playoffs as an undefeated or 1 loss team. I've mostly looked at Ohio St with a seasoned Julian Sayin, another year of Jeremiah Smith & now Bo Jackson but I admittedly haven't looked at much of their roster beyond that. Them & Georgia just because, well Georgia are the main threats to Texas I'm looking at in '26.

PK was a good DC but if we're being honest he was best suited for a conference like the Big 12. As good as he was we can't forget that Gary Patterson was needed to come in and help him with Quarters coverages in '22. And for as good as PK was, the fact that he couldn’t coordinate the entire defensive was an issue. We had a championship level team in '23 but the fact that he couldn’t marry the front end to the back end which led to a secondary that got torched by damn near everyone cost that team a national championship. Not to mention I'm not sure I can recall PK ever trying to make a team "play left-handed". Our weakness in '23 was our secondary because of him not being able to marry the front end to the back but instead of dropping numbers and daring Washington to run into the likes of Sweat/Murphy/Collins/Broughton we sat back and basically let UW do what they wanted to do which was pick our secondary apart. We seemed to fix the issues in '24 after getting Mukuba but this year the same problem. We watched Florida, Kentucky, Mississippi St, Arkansas and Vanderbilt go up and down the field on his defenses this year with little resistance. We were supposed to have the best pass rushing unit in the entire country with Simmons, Hill, Moore, Burke, etc and we got 0 sacks on Sayin while Indiana sacked him 5 or 6 times. Our supposedly vaunted pass rush was nonexistent for like the first half of the year. How was that even possible with all the studs we had on that side of the ball?? I'm thankful for what PK helped us build to and while I recognize the offense in large parts has been the bigger issue, I can't honestly say the defense hasn't been an issue at times too. I'm excited to see what Muschamp's effect on not just the defense, but the offense is as well.

I'm still holding out hope for Samples as the WR coach for whenever Jackson moves on.

I thought Gerry mentioned last year that Berry is related to Juluke. Maybe Wilson's departure makes him leave the boot but family brings him to Austin.

I think in normal years we'd pass because we only seem to take high producers at their previous stops but I'm hoping the increase to 105 allows for takes like this. Him with Atkinson, Barnes & TyAnthony Smith would go a long way towards getting that room right.

Not only that but a Michigan offensive staff member (maybe an analyst) that he was close to announced he was taking another job hours after Lee signed. To quote George W. I agree but as RB4 at best. If he can accept that role then I'm glad to have him back if not then the portal is right there.

This. I was one that was known to be down on Baker throughout his recruitment although most of that was me trying to tell anyone who'd listen that Drew Timme was the much better pplayer. With that said, if Elkins turned into Baker I'd be ecstatic to get that from the 15the guy on the roster. It'd mean some serious development is happening in the program.

What's really stupid about their scheduling is they made sure Texas Tech plays both Kansas schools and both Utah schools but they only played one other in-state school and the one they chose to give them was the one they have the least history with. How is there any season in which Texas Tech, Baylor and TCU don't play each other??

I agree including trying to entice Muhammad and even Hill to come back. Go all in like Ohio State did last year.

I believe you and believe those folks are still offering everything in order for the students to be successful. What I'm saying is before NIL, you would still see some guys become academically ineligible because those guys refused to utilize all of the available resources (PJ Tucker). Now, that they're (in some cases) being paid millions I don't think you'll be seeing any of these guys academically ineligible moving forward because these schools literally can't afford for them to fail. They'll be eligible whether they utilize the resources or not.

Point remains the same but I don't believe James followed Tommy to TCU. He's doing well starting at Center for Miami and ironically was the bigger contributor at Bama even though Tommy was the can't miss guy that everyone wanted of the two.

Not sure I agree on MSU, we needed all of that time to make that comeback. We were down double digits a good portion of the 2nd quarter through the last 5 mins or so of the 4th quarter.

Yeah...no need to rev up the Georgia fanbase more than they already will be plus depending on what happens with us, we might need all of the home field advantage we can get for Pitt to knock off ND.

I get that but Vandy was ranked #9 last week by virtue of beating #11 South Carolina, #10 LSU and #15 Mizzou. Then we beat them and went from #20 to #11. OU jumped into the top 5 after beating #15 Michigan and #22 Auburn. Do you not see how others could make the same argument about many teams in the SEC?

Folks look at Texas and say they've only beaten OU (whose only beaten Tennessee whose beaten nobody) and Vandy whose only ranked as highly as they are because they beat overrated teams like a top 15 ranked South Carolina, top 20 Mizzou and a top 10/15 LSU. The argument is SEC teams get ranked highly just because they're SEC and then when they lose the team that beats them gets the huge bump without considering the original ranked team might be highly overrated as South Carolina, Florida, LSU, Oklahoma and frankly we were as well.

Texas was #11 in the cfp rankings last week. BYU will drop behind Texas & OU and everyone between 8-12 will move up one slot and Texas will be 10th.
