Here's a few reasons why: To begin with, the cost of the out of state medical education would be double to triple, compared to Texas. Once football is over, you are on your own financially. Then, you are pretty much stuck there, because your residency would most likely be in California. California has lower average physician salaries, especially when adjusted for their higher cost of living, and the ridiculous higher taxes that you would pay. Then you will find out that your malpractice premiums and payouts will significantly impact your income, because your insurance cost will be a lot higher. Cali has a high percentage of uninsured residents, which will negatively impact your medical environment, which has led to higher burnout rates. California has become a third world 💩 🕳️.
